You keep the CRT for Super Scope games. That's why I still have one. Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge is still one of the best 2-player SNES games ever made.

There's a very important mechanic to this game that doesn't come across in the video and especially isn't coming across in these comments.

I, too, hate sliding puzzles. I, too, thought they would ruin this game. I, too, did not think the game would ever be enjoyable when it requires those sliding puzzles to craft.

I was wrong and so are you.

The crazy thing about this game is that you get better at sliding puzzles. It actually forces you to learn all the tricks of how to handle sliding puzzles. Imagine if you played Lumines for 10 minutes, realized you didn't know the tricks of how to play it, and decided the quit saying you hated the game? That's what you sound like if you think this game is ruined by the sliding puzzles; you aren't letting yourself learn how to do them.

Not only that, but there are actually a whole bunch of sliding puzzles in the game and the 2 that you see in this video are actually the 2 hardest in the game. The rest don't have numbers in them, meaning some pieces are interchangeable and are thus easier to solve. They get super easy over time, too.

Please, just give the puzzles a chance. When you start to figure out the tricks and do well at them, the whole game really opens up. That said, don't forget this is a free to play game when it comes out of Early Access. There's absolutely zero reason not to give this a try when it does.

So... this game... this fucking awesome game...

Let me just put it this way. Expert play in this game requires a lot of finesse and practice but it's also at the VERY end of the game. As in, like, after you've beaten the story and finish off the first chunk of extra missions. Expert play is also VERY smooth looking. The clunkiness of the gameplay you watched here is primarily what happens when you're new to the game. You haven't really figured out how to smoothly go from titan to titan whacking off limbs before getting neck shots in. There is a way of playing this game well and it makes watching the game more entertaining by sheer virtue of how crazy the action is.

But what must be stated is how damned satisfying the game gets once you figure the controls out. I'm talking beyond anything Dynasty Warriors could ever throw at you. I'm talking "Dark Souls killed 3 bosses without a death" kind of satisfying. It's really hard to describe. On top of that, it needs stating that the PC version with 60fps and 1080p rendering is waaaaay better looking and loading times are stupid fast compared to the version these guys played.

So, seriously, throw this on your Steam wishlist and grab it on sale or just buy it now if you're even slightly interested. The story is faithful to the source material (with filler thrown out and an important back story thrown in) AND even goes a step beyond the last episode of the anime. Not that anyone should care about that because the gameplay alone is worth the price of admission. Yes, it's "doing the same thing over and over" but getting to the expert play, where everything gets way harder to pull off but your characters build strength to combat the difficulty, is where the game shines like a diamond.

This was actually the hardest elusive target for me. I didn't recognize the location AT ALL so it took me forever just to find it, then I had so much trouble handling the guards, woof! Still, though, I finally made it in, killed the target, and escaped as Helmut just like Brad did. Good job, I really did not expect you to do so well so quickly! Looks like you're turning into a real Hitman.

Why is Vinny the best person ever? Because even while way ahead, unable to lose, he's willing to make the last round count for more so that he still has the chance to let someone else win. He's willing to concede a win in order to make the content more interesting, exciting, and fun. You're the best, Vinny.

The most informative size comparison I've ever seen.
