Insomniac with Daveyo520

I sit here on my computer at almost 4 am in the morning. I should really be asleep, but I am not as you can tell. I stay up because I just find too many things to do online. But even when I do try to go to sleep it takes forever, so I guess it is a little bit of insomnia really. It has been going on for ever really. It's been suggested I should go on sleep meds, but I think that's pushing it to places I don't want to go. I have some friends who do take them though, they seem to help them. Except one always has crazy dreams when she sleeps because of it, but that might be cool.
 
 
Hmmmm, can I make this relevant to anyone who reads this? Do and of you suffer from insomnia? Do you just like to stay up late? Why are you up at 4 am right now? I bet it's because you are in a different time zone.

I'm in the same exact position. It takes me forever to fall asleep at night. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I joke about it, but really don't like the idea of taking pills. I'm already on medication for other health issues, and don't want to add to the mix. I've tried a lot of things, including getting away from any screens early. Reading doesn't help, because I just get sucked into the story and don't want to stop. I wish you luck my friend, and you're not alone.

It seems most gamers have problems sleeping cause they're like kids. Playing their little video games, never wanting to go to bed. Sneaking up at night to play games. I was like that for a long time ago myself. But now, totally not. I can seriously fall asleep when ever I want. I only close my eyes, get comfortable and sleep away. I can sleep for a good 15 hours, get up next day and then later out on the day, sleep a couple of more hours before finally going to bed for the night while it's still fairly early.

I find going to sleep early pretty tough, but that's mostly because I always feel like it's a waste of time, or that there is something better I could be doing...and then I moan about not sleeping right, or not getting enough sleep! I'd try giving your lifestyle a switch around first, getting off the computer way before you intend to go to bed and getting your body into the routine of doing this. Are you still getting a healthy number of hours of sleep a night? Say, if you sleep at 4am, you get up at 12pm? If that's the case get yourself up at 8am instead, eventually (if it's just a lifestyle thing) you'll have to sleep earlier. If it's none of this doctors advice is the best, since it may be related to stress or something similar.

I dont sleep that much either, not at night anyway. I prefer to sleep during the day, thus avoiding all the arseholes in my life.

Topic name reminds me of Insomniac with Dave Attell. That was a fucking awesome show, and I used to not sleep and watch it constantly.

I recommend Melatonin. It's the same stuff your body produces to make you sleepy, and some people just don't produce it regularly. It's over the counter, so you don't have to worry about prescriptions, and it won't cause addictions. And it's not "unnatural", as it's just the same chemicals your body produces.

I was trying to make it like the shows title. So it was not about making Rachet and Clank games, but a joke about a cool show that's not on anymore.

Maybe if other things don't work. I'm not against "unnatural" stuff or anything I just think I'm on enough meds for the moment.  Also that addiction thing.
