@Mirado: So I notice the GTX 650 is PCIe 3.0. My motherboard has only PCIe 2.0. I've heard that 3.0 is backwards compatible to 2.0, but do you know if there would be a drop in performance because of that?

@Mirado: Great, thanks, I will check this one out. This PC was upgraded by the guy I bought it from. Not really sure why he felt the need to put in such a huge power supply.

@Mirado: Not sure about the power supply model but it is supposedly 1000W. As far as budget, I could probably go up to $100 but only if it would be really worth it with my current setup. I'm trying to run games on my HDTV at HD resolution.

Anyone else have this happen when fighitng the final boss????

SPOILERS

You kill the 2 big cats, then the woman with the sword. You throw the 2 knives at the guy sitting at the desk and he goes to kill himself. If you are standing in the right (wrong) spot he will blast himself in the head and the bullet will go through him and kill you as well leaving both of you dead and you have to restart the stage.

So wondering if any fellow GB'ers have any experience using HDMI Splitters on their PCs. I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card. I've got my tv plus dual monitors on my desktop right now, but I only use the tv for gaming and movies. I'm thinking of just throwing a splitter on the HDMI out and running that to one of the monitors and to the TV. Anyone ever use a setup like this??

The d-pad is not the best for those old school titles, it seems to switch between down and left/right too easily for my tastes, but i'm sure I'll get used to it.

If you get really fed up with that like I did, you can use xpadder or a similar program to map the same functionality to WASD or the arrow keys on your keyboard. Not the best solution, I'll grant you, but it made menus a whole hell of a lot easier for me.

So you are using the controller but the button presses are mapped to the keyboard? Is that how you're set up? Then you map the WASD keys in your software?

Picked up a wireless 360 pad for windows last night. Connecting it was super easy and it is recognized by the emulators im using now too. The d-pad is not the best for those old school titles, it seems to switch between down and left/right too easily for my tastes, but i'm sure I'll get used to it.

Thanks everyone!

I guess that settles it. Looks like I'll be able to do 2-player stuff with that wireless dongle as well. Thanks everyone!
