There are plenty of high profile games to choose from in 2011. I've played all of them and I have to say, 2011 has been a very disappointing year for those titles. This was all put together rather quickly so I will edit this list throughout the coming months.
Uncharted 3 is a great game in almost every way. However, the single-player aiming and gunplay is completely broken. Because of this, the combat sequences that involve shooting destroy the players experience. I'm hoping for a patch.
Dead Space 2 is faster and controls better than Dead Space 1. However, all of that tension, the tight spaces, and the unexepected moments are removed and make Dead Space 2 more similar to something like Gears of War than a survival-horror game. That's not what I want in a sequel.
I liked Portal 2 but it wasn't as subtle or nuanced as the original. It was also far too long. Give me another 3-4 hour Portal experience please.
Less interesting than Gears of War 2. I didn't think that was possible.
It's bigger than Arkham Asylum but it's also far too disjointed and the city-scape is completely wasted. There's nothing interesting to do in the world except collect junk which I don't care about. They should have called it "Batman: Play me if You're Unemployed"
This is only a comment on the 360 version which had such bad technical problems including a completely random framerate that ruined the experience. And the AI, holy crap. . .
