I love these streams but they’re also infuriating to watch. One part that really confused me was after Abby died to the sewer monsters for the first time, then she went and spawned the one to the left before running down the tunnel to the right and trapping herself between them. And then she was like “Why are there two of them?”
@fram: I think Halo 5 feels amazing to play, and the campaign is a lot of fun. The hate it gets within the Halo community is overblown and ridiculous. I will say, though, that having recently played through the other games, they’re still so fun. Halo 3 especially is an absolute blast, and it made me realize that there’s probably a middle-ground they could find between the classic Halo style and the more CoD-feeling style of the new ones. I don’t necessarily need ADS and sprinting in my Halo games; if they could just focus on the fun run-and-gun style of the originals but with better hit detection and faster movement, I think they would have the perfect Halo game on their hands.
@stanek1: I don't think Mother! is necessarily super obvious in what it's doing. Parts of it are pretty obvious hints, like the name of Javier Bardem's character in the credits, and it's clear that there's more to it than what's happening on the surface, but I didn't catch all the mother earth/God stuff while watching it the first time.
@xbob42: You can be mad at the restaurant for it all you want, but that’s the way it is, and if you don’t tip you’re an asshole. Yeah, it’s a societal problem, but the servers are the ones who suffer.
If anyone’s curious about just how bad the glitches in Jedi: Fallen Order can be, check out this one I ran into: https://twitter.com/cameronschott/status/1196912860552712193?s=21
That said, I still think the game is awesome and it held my attention all the way through. I’ve even fully explored all the planets but one at this point.
I wish I liked Outer Wilds, but I don’t enjoy the feeling of moving around in the ship or on foot and I find the time mechanics fascinating in theory but tedious in practice.
I actually really like the look of navigating the world in this game. I think it’s interesting to see a game that actually makes you think really hard about the physicality of the space you’re in, and that makes moving through that space something deliberate and tactile rather than most games where characters will automatically hop over minor obstacles or whatever.
On the other hand, the equipment management side looks confusing and tedious, and I don’t want to go anywhere near it. So I think I’m going to avoid this game until it gets a steep discount.
My favorite part about this game is everyone’s constant exasperation over the player character. Every time you say anything every other character is just like “Goddammit, Ellis.”
