Fun AND provocative? Yes, it is possible. 0

Hotline Miami is an unexpected treat. At first glance it could probably be written off as yet another "retro-inspired" beat-em-up, but when you actually sit down and play it you discover that it's something much more. It's not only insanely fluid and fun to play, but it really manages to make its players think about what they're doing, and about violence in video games in general. The graphics are worth noting because, at first glance, they might not seem all that special. But when the game is in...

Arkham Asylum is a must-play, no matter who you are. 3

Batman doesn't exactly have a good history when it comes to video games. The best thing you can say about the Batman games is that some of them are decent. But Arkham Asylum has abandoned the generic, repetitive beat-em-up structure that made other games in the same universe so dull and has instead opted for an experience that's part stealth, part action and part exploration. The result is a game that's not only a fantastic Batman game, but an incredible achievement in its own right. The stealth...

Two is better than one, but for $6, more would still be nice. 1

I think it's safe to say that everyone was/is a little skeptical about Steel and Titanium's hefty price tag of six dollars. I mean, come on, it's two maps. But I'd like to get this out of the way right now: it's totally worth it. Sure, it's only two new maps, but they're incredible new maps (which we'll talk about later), plus three new ranks. It's a little disappointing that no new classes were added, but the new ranks have high requirements that will keep you playing for a long time, since yo...

Battlefield at its finest. 0

There was undoubtedly a lot of skepticism about a Battlefield 1942 remake with one game mode and three maps when 1943 was announced. After all, that's not exactly a lot of content compared to the other downloadable games on the PlayStation Store and XBOX Live arcade. Fortunately, this lack of content is forgiveable in 1943 because rather than actually limit the game's longevity, it simply highlights the amount of variety in the gameplay; so much that the game doesn't need any more content. The c...

These are some dolls you definitely shouldn't play with. 0

Don't let its looks fool you; Rag Doll Kung Fu is a boring and tedious affair. To call Rag Doll Kung Fu a game is a bit of a stretch, and to call it a good game is a total lie. In fact, it might be one of the PlayStation Network's worst games. And not just because it's so insanely boring and repetitive, but because it had such potential. It was creative, it was goofy, and it had ninja dolls. How did it get screwed up? Why, with broken, unresponsive controls, annoying music, repetitive challenges,...

Not quite the sequel we were hoping for. 0

Gears of War is undoubtedly one of the 360's best games. It's dark, gritty, and violent, with fun gameplay to boot. And that's why it's such a shame the sequel doesn't live up to its legendary predecessor. Gears of War 2 is by no means a bad game. In fact, it's got the same great gameplay as the original. But that's most of the problem. Gears of War 2 fails to be ambitious, recycling all of Gears of War's gameplay mechanics and adding nothing new to the mix. Of course, a lot of sequels recycle o...

Think of it as extreme parkour 0

Back in 2007, Sony and Sucker Punch released a trailer for a little game called inFamous. It wasn't especially popular at first, but before long, it became one of the PlayStation 3's most anticipated titles. But along with anticipation comes the debate as to weigher or not the game can truly live up to the hype, and I'm proud to say that it exceeds it. True, there are many open world action games out there, but none of them have managed to combine shooting, platforming and superhero gameplay lik...
