@zohar Honestly man, if you want to upgrade I would just save and throw down for a really big 1440 monitor. I recently upgraded my little 26" ASUS to a 32" HP ENVY and am loving the difference. While it's not as big as the eyefinity stuff, the lack of black bars between monitors combined with the overall size and fidelity increase for videos, media editing (dear God, how did I use Premiere before?!), and just browsing make a huge damn difference. Outside of gaming I can't really see an advantage for 3 monitors, so seeing as you already have two you could either sell off the old one to recoup some of the cost, or just go three monitor that way if you have the space (I don't).

Seriously, this huge screen is incredible. Can't recommend it enough.

A 5e version of Neverwinter Nights sounds awesome. I'll keep my eye on this.

I love the original NWN so much. So much.

For some reason, NWN2 never did it for me. It was probably @rorie's fault.

My interest is piqued, but I remain unconvinced.

I miss Vinny and his goofiness and Charlie Tunoku and oh god now I'm in the corner crying.

But then I realize Giant Bomb is still cool guy stuff for cool guys, thanks to Dirty Dan.

Hey, you guys may be able to help me. I kind of fall into Jeff and Dan's feelings on anime but for some reason was thinking about watching this one my buddy recommended to me a long time ago. Problem is, I can't remember the name of it. I suppose I could just ask him but that would be validating his opinion and that's no fun, right?

I tried searching for it, but came up with nothing. All I can remember is that he recommended it to me after he demoed my Oculus Rift so it had some kind of relevance to the VR conversation. I remember that it was a sci-fi anime and seemed to take place in some kind of city. Other than that, I remember it was on hulu, if that helps at all. Thanks jerks!

Sword Art Online, maybe? I've not watched it, so I don't know what the setting is like, but I'm pretty sure they're in a virtual reality game.

If it was Sword Art Online...I dunno, man. Show is a bit hit or miss. It does fit with the fact that the part of the plot involves VR (as in being stuck in VR) but its not really a sci-fi show since the setting is more rooted to fantasy but the conceit is sci-fi because it revolves being stuck in a video game (a virtual MMORPG) and uses terms or jargon commonly found in that genre. The other show would be Log Horizon. Both shows sort of have a similar premise but they're actually very different shows but they are both anime-ass anime. Either one could be the show your friend talked about but I kinda doubt it since he did say sci-fi taking place in a city.

If you could give more clues it'll help. So far it might actually be Ghost in the Shell as mentioned earlier but its still a shot in the dark.

Thanks guys, managed to find it on Hulu. I knew it wasn't any of the ones mentioned because I had heard of those and hadn't heard of this one before. The one he was talking about was Accel World. Should I check it out? Our tastes are pretty much polar opposites in everything so the fact he recommended it makes me wary.

@FunExplosions: According to Wiktionary, is an:

"Archaic spelling of foetus."

I get a lot of shit for my poor spelling but the grammar Nazis need to back the fuck off on this one.

Don't know how I got here, but as long as I'm here, I wanted to let you know that you are still crazy. No one spells fetus like that!

@theht: @corevi: I tried playing Alan Wake - really dug the atmosphere, just really hated the combat. I just kind of stopped playing at some point. I'll have to revisit it - should I continue playing through the main game if I do, or is American Nightmare standalone enough to just go through that and not have to engage with the combat system for as long? I love shooters, but MAN - the way that game plays just doesn't jive with me.

@bisonhero: Somehow haven't heard of Lone Survivor before now! While I never really enjoyed Silent Hill, I love the atmosphere of that series, so I'll definitely check it out.

Finally got around to KRZ and holy shit, surprise GOTY outta nowhere. The atmosphere and storytelling resounds with me in a way that few other things do. The closest analogue that I can think of is the wonderful podcast Welcome to Nightvale (which I haven't listened to all of) as well as, obviously, Twin Peaks (as well as some of Lynch's more surreal work). I was wondering if y'all have any suggestions for entertainment in any medium (books, podcasts, TV, games, movies) that share a similar vibe/atmosphere.

Incredibly stoked for the remaining acts of this game. Damned masterpiece of storytelling. It says something that I haven't really felt anything like I do when I play this since the first time I saw Twin Peaks.

I always felt kind of uncomfortable about a film where the whole joke is that Americans (I'm an american myself) are going to assassinate the leader of another country (no matter how tyrannical that leader may be). I mean imagine if North Korea was releasing a film where silly North Korean comedians were sent on a mission to murder Obama? I'm all for freedom of speech, but this movie always felt a little off to me.

I dunno, I'm OK with comedies dealing with otherwise very serious political issues. I mean, Dr. Strangelove is about nuclear war which was a very real fear for people at the time.

Also, I would watch your hypothetical film with silly North Korean equivalents of Seth Rogen and James Franco.

I too would watch this North Korean film.

Also, however you may feel about the "serious political nature" of the film, I highly doubt we'd threaten a fucking terrorist attack against NK if they made a comedy about killing Obama.
