The sequence of events escapes me but I recall Steven Tyler one time shopping at my job's stores one time about ten years ago and an Aerosmith song was on the muzak station and someone put him on the overhead and he proceeded to screech out a bunch of the song live for people in that store. They made a big deal about it on the internal company website and I just thought that it seemed like hell.
I think he had some legal issues with being inebriated in public soon after.
I constantly mess with a coworker by saying that Aerosmith only ever recorded Dream On and broke up afterwords because they realized they peaked. In more metal news, I also remember their bassist showing up to go see Demilich at MDF one year.
@magnetphonics: i didn't even realize they had another album out since One One One. Blackjazz was so fun and unique and abrasive, all at the same time, and I love it dearly, but they clearly didn't have much else in the tank. or rather, the need to experiment outweighed the need for...well, good music. and dumping the sax is a pretty egregious offense.
International Blackjazz Society is the follow up to One One One and is pretty fun, but Animal after it is just....whooof. Glad they're having fun with it but that one whiffed with me.
can absolutely vouch for the taking the music festival bracelet into the shower thing being harrowing. I did a four day metal fest memorial day weekend and would have my arm raised over the shower because in my mind if the thing got wet it would disintegrate.
