Design feedback?

I'm a graphic designer and my friends have always called me Viking. Either IRL or the internet, the word viking has followed me through my whole life. Also I have Thor tattoed on my left arm. That and my passionate love for all things video games made me choose the name 8-BitVike as my "artistic name".

Anyways, I made this pixel art logo for my new upcoming design portfolio. What do you think? I've heard some really good and some not so good comments. One guy told me that "it looks weird, like shit", other guy told me that the word vike reminds him of vicodin or dyke... Others have told me they love it. Don't know what to think of it anymore. I would like some honest opinions... Don't be so rough on me, I thought it sounded and looked cool when I made it :(

Latest I've done for Threadless. 
 I've done my fair amount of illustrations over the years but I almost never show it to people because I fear it may not be enough to please everyone. Over this past month I've come to realize that you can't do that. Some will like your work and some other won't, I'm finally fine with that.  
 
I have always tried to find what I can do with my designs. Making video game concept art is one of the many possibilities I see for my work. Illustrations for books, movies, and other media is always another option but I think what I find the most compeling part of a design is to see people actually taking them home and either hang it from their walls or wear them as clothing. This is why I started submitting my stuff on Threadless, they offer quality stuff made by people like me who want to show what they can do and find the idea of someone wearing it as a t-shirt very exciting. This is in some way, a self promoting blog. In another, a way for me to overcome my confidence issues and show YOU, what I can do and why you should wear it.

And another one for critique purposesSo yeah, if you like my work... Like my facebook page I know, I know, it's so fuckin' disgusting to see every post of people just trying to promote their stuff everywhere on the internet. This blog has that purpose but it is also a very personal thing. I need to show this to people to see if this thing I've been doing all my life is worth something. What do you guys think?! 
  
EDIT: I forgot to tell everyone that I am DYING to make a Giant Bomb t-shirt for the yearly subscription membership... If you want that just spam Ryan asking for it lol.  
 
EDIT: Another design up on Threadless!! Hope you all like it. It's a little corny but I did this one for my girlfriend :D Still pending for approval, will let you guys know!!
