If Dan thinks the boss at the end of Act 2 in Gears 5 is the most bullshiat boss ever, and annoyed at having to watch the cut scene I'm guessing he'll have a ball with some of the ones at the end of Control.

Dan has already beaten Control and hasn't made any mention of the bosses as far as I remember, so guessing he didn't have much trouble with them.

That was a really fun episode, great job gang! You're really getting the hang of this, Abby, awesome job on that boss. You're really starting to learn all the item management quirks (leaving ammo for the guns you don't use very often but just keeping what you have loaded in them) and shooting them in the legs and running around them. Love a good torsoing haha.

You're doing awesome @ybbaaabby ! Hope you don't listen to any whiny clowns.

Something most seem to forget is a lot of us have dozens of hours in this or series like it and are familiar with the staples and general methodology of these games that differ greatly from most games that come out now. We all had to learn how to deal with managing our inventory slots and ammunition at one point.

I will recommend a little more experimentation if you're feeling up for it though, even if it feels counter to the forward progress at all costs idea that seems very prevalent in streams, especially since you're not playing and learning off camera like all of us did when we played these games. Something I tend to do with a new game is "sacrifice" a death so I can learn the mechanics a little better. Run up to some zombies and try different weapons and aiming at different limbs to see how they all work and react.

Then you can reload your save or die and come back with all your weapons/ammo like it never even happened. Shooting zombies in the legs is extremely helpful for saving ammo but it does take more than 1 shot usually (2-3), still much easier on ammo than 5+ shots to the head and more reliable than the rare lucky headshot. After a zombie has lost a leg it slows it down a lot since it crawls, making it easier to dodge or slash to death with a knife (you're pretty much completely safe if you're standing on their back as you slash them).

Oh, and ignoring some enemies is definitely a staple of the series but honestly you're doing pretty well on that front by killing everything so more power to ya. Yeah you're basically completely out of ammo at all times which might be a crappy feeling but you're still able to progress so it seems like they've improved things quite a bit. That being said, if you manage to run past a couple enemies here and there that can make all the difference or at least give you some ammunition peace of mind haha.

This is my favorite series on the site right now! Can't wait for next Friday!

@vinny ahh damn, not your fault since they don't make any of this obvious but picking Chris in the REmake gives you extra bullshit. Chris has 2 fewer inventory slots and has to deal with a bunch of small keys (Jill has the lock pick) and other tedious puzzle elements that Jill does not have to. Jill also starts with a gun but Chris can take a bit more damage.

For your own sanity if it's not too late. I've probably played REmake 15 times as Jill and twice as Chris haha. Jill's just a better character to boot. You could probably breeze through a lot of what you've already done too.

Glad to hear the GB Crew is enjoying RE games as a whole though! I'm really enjoying watching @ybbaaabby play through this!

I'm loving these changes, huge nostalgia for the original 150, haven't played a Pokemon game since Yellow. I love not having to grind battle every single pokemon just to catch them. In fact, I think it makes actual battles much more special and more fun since they're less frequent.

My only wish would be for them to streamline the catching and make it quicker to get in and out of each pokemon encounter. For instance, I'd love the option to skip the pokedex after every encounter and speed up the leveling screen etc. Other than that I'm just having a freaking blast.

@damodar: I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I remember sniper rifles being less effective / useless when close range.

Man the controls in this game are finnicky! The only way to beat them is to slow down and take your time in those critical moments, it shouldn't be necessary but it absolutely is with the way this game is designed. You'll get 'em next time Commander Russell!

Yikes, a lot of shitty comments here. I don't understand being so adversarial towards the GB crew about this. XCOM is about rolling with the punches, that's the fun and drama of this game and feature. Abby, don't listen to these clowns.
