@vinny@austin_walker I noticed something peculiar in the settings menu of Total War, your GPU is listed as a 980ti with 12GB of RAM but as far as I know 980ti's only come with 6GB. What's up with that? Just a fluke in that game? Running SLi and it counts both?

Right? I still can't believe more companies haven't realized that consumers want to hear people talk like real people. I caught a bit of the Battlefield 1 reveal trailer and having to listen to the clearly PR approved responses from the devs was awful. You could practically see it on their faces, "oh man I wish I could tell you right now but our carefully crafted advertising campaign has to dole all these details out at a metered rate." Just a bummer that it turns the potentially cool and interesting people that make games into cardboard cutouts.
On the flip side, though, it is shady as HELL (ho ho ho) that ID Software scrubbed Steam of negative reviews of the Beta. Steam already labels early-access reviews as such with a impossible-to-ignore notice at the top of said reviews, so it's not like the publisher/developers had any legitimate concerns about people thinking that the Multi-Player Beta Test coloring their review score. It just reeks of tone-deaf arrogance -- "How dare these peasants give our perfect game a negative review! They just don't understand our art!"
I don't understand how it makes any sense to even have the capability to write reviews on a Beta. I don't blame them in this case. Especially when you consider how many people use user reviews simply as a soapbox, not even really considering the quality of the experience.
I love that they worry about Doom's performance but leave 8X Transparent Multisampling enabled.
Hahaha! It consistently blows me away when they somehow overlook anti-aliasing for being the resource hog that it generally is. Obviously there are all kinds of different forms of AA that make exponentially different degrees of a performance impact out there but if you're worried about performance then that should be one of the first things you go and check out and I feel like everyone who works for this site should really know that by now. Maybe just a live stream oversight, but it's a consistent one.
It doesn't really bother me, just surprises me and provides me a good chuckle when I see their settings screen and want to reach through and tweak things hahaha.
I can't wait till Jeff starts firing people for playing F2P mobile games.
