Adblock didn't help, but that kind of impression advertising was already on its way out. Shiftier ad networks and more invasive ads, needed to get any value from display advertising, hastened the rise of adblock. It's shitty all around.
@chaser324: I sincerely hope it wasn't the latter in this case. That sounds dreadful. Best wishes to everyone, GameSpot is a very well known site and that will surely carry some clout for whatever they endeavour to do next.
The number of open positions shrinks while the number of qualified applicants rises, and game PR isn't the best industry ever right now either. It's a pretty raw deal all around.
Only one person was confirmed as a layoff. I'm not sure where all these newz sitez are getting "massive layoffs at Gamespot" from.
People who work at GameSpot. We are reading what they write, and therefore know things about it. I'm not trying to be condescending, but... that's what is happening.
People who claim to just "not like onions" are a bunch of liars, because there is no way someone could not at least like caramelized onions. In general I think people who have long, long lists of foods that they dislike simply ate some garbage rendition of a food and then never gave it another shot.
Onions and cilantro taste like soap to me. Grilled, raw, boiled, fried, however. Fuck onions, and that's the truth.
