I got the complete series of Battlestar Galactica on blu-ray at Christmas and I have been working my way through the seasons ever since then. Just watched the end of season 3 last night and the twist caught me be by surprise.

It just cemented the fact that I think that season 3 has been the best season of the show so far (that is saying something because all seasons that I have watched have been exceptional so far) and now I can't wait to jump into season 4 to see how they wrap the whole thing up.

But I'm getting L.A Noire today so season 4 will have to go on the back burner. But anyone who hasn't watched the show yet, go out and get it because it's one of the best TV shows in the last 10 years and the picture quality is the best I have seen on a blu-ray

I talked at length a couple of blogs ago about what I think of Sly 3. But after finally beating the game, I thought that I would talk about the Sly Collection as a whole.

Sly 1 is still great but it has some problems because of stuff that was common in game design back then such as a lives system and poor checkpoints. But the core platforming is the best in any of the Sly games and the story was well told and interesting enough to get me through it

Sly 2 is a completely different game to the first, it introduces a ton of new mechanics and gives Bentley and Murray more of a role in the gameplay. This helps to keep things varied and they aren't just through away minigames because they are all excellently designed. Also with this game being near 3 times the length of the first game it's good thing the variation is there.

I already talked at length about Sly 3 and I still consider it the best in the series despite it only making minor improvements over Sly 2.

After playing these games I can see why people loved them on PS2 and with this collection only being $40 and every game looking fantastic in HD there is no reason why you wouldn't pick this up

I finally beat the story in Pokemon White yesterday and I have to say it had the best story of any pokemon game that I have ever played (and I have played them all). The ending is epic and the fact that you have to catch a legendary as part of the story is great moment because in the old games it was entirely optional and sometimes a pain to do.

Something has to be said for what they have done to the graphics, it feels like a proper DS game unlike the last game which felt like a GBA game with slightly better sprites. The animations are so good that I never turned them off in battle once, with other games I would have battle animations turned off within a couple of hours. Even the sort of 3d towns really impressed me, the first time I crossed the bridge into my first proper town blow me away.

But all the improvements in graphics would be for nothing if the gameplay wasn't there. The core gameplay is the same as any other pokemon game (don't think I have to explain it) but the addition of 3 v 3 battles really mixes things up. They have also streamlined certain things like making TM and HM moves available in the world instead of having to play a mini-game to get them. Also despite what this website may think, the new pokemon are the best since gen 1 and tons of them have unique typing that hasn't been seen in previous games.

The soundtrack is also excellent, every song on there is so memorable and well produced it sort of made me think of the amazing soundtracks in studio ghibli films.

I personally think that this is the best Pokemon ever and there is no question that it has the best story of any Pokemon game ever

I have went back to playing Sly 3 in the Sly collection and the game is great, varied and the story is constantly holding my interest. It may be the best in the series even though it makes small tweaks instead of major overhauls (so much so that I couldn't play it straight after Sly 2). It's sort of what I imagine Uncharted 3 will do but I was thinking if there is a Sly 4 that I don't want a game similar to Sly 3. This is because most of Sly 3 had a game design theory of through everything in because that will make it a better game. Initially I had no problem about the amount of mini-games and things that wasn't core platforming but at the 10 hour mark it is starting to drag and I just want the game to be over. Where as with Sly 2 it never dragged even though it had some elements that weren't core platforming, there wasn't as many of them and allowed the game to do what it's best at which is core platforming.

So even though I consider Sly 3 the best in series because of the amount of content and how varied this content is, if there is a Sly 4 take it back to the template that Sly 2 set up

I just watched the season finale to The Walking Dead last night and the ending was suitably epic. I also liked the use of the whispering in the ear technique where the audience can't hear what was said but surely will find out at some point. Lost in Translation is one of my favorite films of all time and I was surprised to not see more people steal this technique after that film came out.

But it was a great conclusion to a amazing series and I can't wait to see more of it

It's great to know that the PSN is finally back in the US but as of this post it is still not back up in the UK. I have downloaded the firmware and can't wait until I sync my trophies
