Pile of Shame games I own or owned

So going over some other user's lists and seeing their "Shame" lists got me thinking of games that I own or owned that I never finished or even worse, never even started. Because I had a decent job at the time afforded me the luxury of having extra monies to buy lots of games. So a lot of games I started and played, but then something new would come out and I just never got around to going back and finishing. Now that I am unemployed and going to school, perhaps I can find some time to boot up some of these and finish.

List items

  • Starting of the list with a showstopper I know. I started this and played about 2 hours, before something else caught my eye. Also a worth mentioning is the sequel, but these I will try and get done before Bioshock Infinite comes out. That is one of my goals.

  • Yup, played little of each of the three games, but never actually finished a single one. Part of it I think is shooter fatigue.

  • Started this on the PS3, played about 4 hours then lost interest. I even own the complete edition on 360 and possibly Steam, in the hopes of going back in and doing the story.

  • Yeah I know, I am a bad person for playing through Mass Effect 2 without a save from the first game. I got as far as Virmie or whatever that planet is with Saren on it. Never got to the Wrex part either. Maybe this is why my desire to finish ME3 is minimal.

  • Whole franchise. Always played multiplayer with family on the same console. Something left over from the Goldeneye Perfect Dark days about being able to showboat on the couch about jacking fools.

  • I think the last Final Fantasy game I beat was Final Fantasy 2/IV. Own all of the games in the series except the MMO's. Really enjoyed XII but never finished even though I almost maxed out every character's License grid board.

  • Always meant to play it back in the day, finally have it on DS, PSone disc with some Final Fantasy collection, also picked up the iPhone/iPad version. Never got past the first time jump.

  • Again opened the game, but never saw the inside of my Wii. Same with the sequel.

  • This one keeps popping up in my mind as a game I should play. And I intend to, that is why I bought the 3D version for the 3DS. Never got around to starting yet.

  • Never owned a console release. Kept meaning to get the XBOX Original from Live. Finally bought it on Steam and have it downloaded. haven't booted it up yet.

  • Growing up my family never really had the best computers so I missed out on a lot of computer franchises and this is one that I know I would have loved. Have the discs for the second game, and even bought both games from GGO. might not find the time to play these.

  • I bought this game with my launch 360. Never even put the disc in the tray.

  • Have this on PPS2, 360, and Steam. started it and played about 2 hours. Doing this list I feel open world games and I do not mix well.

  • Count me with the Jeff argument. Love the way this game looks and everything about the western theme should pull me towards this game. Hell Rio Bravo is one of my favorite movies. Every once in a while I find myself popping this in and just roaming around and that is enough for me I guess.

  • Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time. Why then did I not feel compelled to play this game for longer then the first area?

  • I want Sega to continue this franchise, even though I never finished. I have both the Dreamcast game and the rerelease on Gamecube. Please Sega continue this franchise to give me a meaning to go back and finish this.

  • Yup, tired many time to get into this game. Never got hooked. Really enjoyed MGS4 even though that I never finished either. This is one that if Kojima ever allowed books to be written in that universe I would probably read every one. Just don't feel compelled to play through them. I even own a lot of copies of these games on PS1, PS2, PS3 and the HD collection on 360.

  • Think about this a martial arts RPG. sounds like my kind of game. stopped after about 2 hours.

  • So many stars.

  • I wanted to be able to play the Wii more, and this was the game I was meaning to play. I am surprised that I did not buy the edition that came with the gold Wiimote.

  • See above for Baldur's Gate. Never had a PC able to run games back in the day. Maybe when Valve announce episode 3 I will go back and play through the series. So I figure I have some time right ;)

  • Another open world game that I just lost interest in exploring. Skyrim is starting to be like that too, but at least with Skyrim I feel comfortable with the amount of time I played to justify it not being a game I completed.

  • Loved Arkham City, even though I never finished the first.

  • I read almost all of the extended universe books. I admit I am a Star Wars fan still. So I have no reason why I never finished this game or it's sequel.

  • I remeber plying like 40 some hours of this game on the Genesis without beating it. Bought in on XBLA and haven't started yet. Along with Skies of Arcadia, I want Sega to continue this franchise as NOT PSO but as a single player RPG. never liked PSO.

  • I played most of all of the games in the franchise, but never actually beat any of them yet. except Revelations, haven't started that one yet. Instead played some multiplayer of that one.

  • I am starting to notice a lot of RPG's on my list along with open world games. hmmm.

  • Played about an hour of the first game. With the hopes of playing through it to play the second.

  • I had Ico on the PS2 but never played more than an hour. Now I own this collection and still haven't played more than an hour. Haven't tried Shadow yet.

  • Love Level5 games, and bought this day one along with the sequel. still haven't gotten past the first area of the first game. Another on the growing list of RPG's.

  • Loved the premise of this game. The idea of a Metroid like exploration of the deserted city while mixing in Halo mission flashbacks. Just never got around to finishing.

  • Never got around to finishing up this game on the Genesis. I would buy this day one if ever updated for a downloadable service.

  • I completed Brutal Legend, Trenched/Iron Brigade is one of my favorites on XBLA, and am a backer of the new Double Fine Adventure game. Makes me feel sad that I never finished this charming game. Got passed the first train area and lost interest.

  • I bought the HD Collection to revisit these games that I had sold off after never finishing them.

  • Have this on my underused Wii.

  • When Dave did the quicklook I went to Amazon and ordered this game. never got around to starting it yet.

  • Really tempted to pick up the 3D redux on the 3DS shop. missed out on the pre order bonus of the 3DS sequel and haven't decided to buy that yet. Had this on the NES way back in the day and has been long gone for a while. Man I sold lots of games in garage sales over the years =(

  • Thanks to the Nintendo Ambassador program I have this game that I missed out on the SNES.

  • What a departure. What a let down when you are a kid expecting more Zelda. Now it can sit on my 3DS staring at me every time I turn that on.

  • Have yet to finish a single Resident Evil game. Never got into Resident Evil 4.
