Mass Effect was banned for a little while here in Singapore until the sticks was taken out of some people's asses. Even then ME has a higher age rating than ME2 because of 'alternative lifestyles'. Hooray for my country where being gay is a jailable offense!
No. Bad map design and game mechanics should be removed from games. There are so many real world methods of dealing with snipers: flanking, smoke, artillery... So much of which is never incorporated properly into shooting games. Map design in shooters are still trapped in the CS era of long narrow corridors without flanking options or Quake style ninja speed running no-scope action.
The setting does not matter. It only needs to be a good game. In the end some people won't find the game good because of the premise, which is fine, there will be others who won't care or will like the setting. It seems the developers are taking a risk by moving away from the franchise's roots, but I can appreciate their desire for a new creative direction.
You can't hoard items in this game. If you have bombs, traps and throwing daggers, use them. You can have a nice game of rolling bomberman by rolling around the room with slowing and damaging traps. It's a bit different coming from the first game where it was go into Gryphon stance and I.W.I.N.
Absolutely. 4chan's a treasure trove of just about anything. The funny thing about /b/ is that it keeps the topical boards honest, by making those users despise /b/ users and encouraging them to post better content. Traditional games, comics and mecha are such joys to sift through.
I would love to see homosexual themes in games, but only if the story warrants it. A game like Gradius or Doom would hardly merit gay themes. It would be nice to have a story where the protagonist is persecuted or celebrated for its sexual orientation. Well, in general it would be nice to have mature story themes in any number of games.
