@rethla: Probably, I could never get into NASCAR, but the problem I have, and many others including drivers is that the pack is artificially induced. There are restrictor plates installed in the engines that limit output, which ensure the cars stay close together. The only possible outcome of a situation like that is a huge crash. This I assume is where the entertainment value is supposed to be derived from according to the jackasses that thought this up. If they keep going down that hole, this essentially becomes modern day gladiatorial combat.

Nicely done you knuckleheads, we did it.

Is there a way to help out with some bucks without actually getting the t-shirt? I think it's super fucking dark, especially that "all aboard" part. I actually don't want it in my house.

I kind of felt the same way at first, but you know what; It's a shirt designed by his widow to honor Ryan Davis, so I'll wear it with pride.

@sessh: Yeah, shit was hair raising for sure. There is a good write up about "pack racing" on MotorSportsTalk about that incident. Indycar running five-wide around Fontana is not the same as running 30 one-ton plus beasts inches apart, where if someone farts a car ends up flying into the catch fence.

My "favorite" part is the end of this recap video where there is a shot of a complete engine block + transmission just thrown clear into the middle of the track. Easily 500 lbs of metal right there.

That shit is more than a liitle bonkers.

@dizzyhippos: Fucking seriously. Reality TV is the fucking worst, reality TV about money is insufferable.

Good race, finally some excitement up at the front. Sucks for Williams, though. They have the speed, but not the pace.

Done and done. I actually had an idea for a coast to coast train trip myself, but never went through with it.

@rethla: It means he could run longer and faster than the rest as they're lifting off before the pit stop to change cars. He caught quite a few dudes out like that. Fe is a different style of driving, and Nelson figured it out better than the rest.

@machofantastico: Piquet definitely earned it. Most races the FIA graphic showed everybody had 1% power left, while Piquet had 10%. He figured out how to drive the hell out of that car.

Also, the bike engulfed in flames covered in WD-40 logos. It's like the most honest advertisement for the stuff I've ever seen.

Phew, another busy weekend for speedy race cars.

Formula E - London race #1 was kind of boring. The Battersea Park roads are too narrow to pass effectively, and the rolling start just spoiled any fun we could have had. Legit shocked to see Bruno Senna ending up not in a wall.

Indycar at Fontana was FUCKING B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Brilliant racing, but also scary crashes in the second half. And Will Power proving he's a human piece of shit. Thanks for the clarification Will. XOXO

Fe - London #2 - The Season Finale was a tad better than the pre-game. Grid start, more action, suspense, Bruno Senna, spoiling the World Championship, results, and shit! Seriously, the best race Senna has had all season, and it ends up determining the championship result. GODDAMMIT!

Then NASCAR managed to make road racing at Sonoma seem dull as fuck. ZZZzzz... *Mhaw?*.. That dudes axle snapped?.. Cool story... bro... zzz...

I should have kept watching the 6 hours at The Glen.
