That was certainly a scary looking crash. It looked to me like Alonso's car was deflected by the curved barrier where they have the gap for other vehicle access. I wonder if that's something they should redesign for safety reasons.
I missed qualifying in Austria last year, and when I tuned into the race I had to do one of those "am I still dreaming?" smack myself things when I saw the two Williams'es on the front row. This year I made sure to watch qualifying, and with all the penalties handed down, I still don't know who starts where.
On the positive side, I like the new McLaren nose. That paint job looked dumb on the old design. I hear they'll be starting in Vienna tomorrow.
I got in trouble with my neighbor thanks to this. I had to crank the audio up uncomfortably high to hear the conversation during the E3 show and didn't realize my subwoofer was rattling the floorboards.
@rethla: Sure, but he's going from the top step at Le Mans to a mid-field runner with Force India the next weekend. That's got to be a little frustrating.
Congrats to Nico Hulkenberg. After two races with the Porsche team he can put "Le Mans 24 Hour winner" on his resume. I wonder, as a driver, why would he even want to continue with the circus sideshow that is F1.
