" With the latest community patch, though, Gothic 3 is way better of now than it was when it launched as an all time train wreck.  I daresay I rarely see people complaining about a game having too much or being too big like I think I'm seeing in this thread. For me, there's no such thing as too much in any kind of game where you can play at your own pace anyways.  Gothic 3 is worth a revisit from anyone that likes open world RPGs that don't hold your hand for you. And try Risen while you're at it. :) "

what is the last community patch? 1.74 ? "
Wow, sorry for the late answer: Yes.

It's the last patch they'll ever make apparently.

Hats off to whoever said it earlier in this thread. This game is being delayed until next year. That's probably a good delay because these guys really have to get it right this time.

The demo doesn't do the full game justice. It starts out slow. It doesn't hold your hand for you. You will get your ass kicked early on...and then it opens up and takes off. It's worth it. :)

Risen 2 will be a day one preorder for me.

This. People need to understand to not expect this to be a Gothic game.  Also, how is the UI? Have they made it better? Honestly, I can't stand games that have a terrible UI. Or that one that lacks any kind of inspiration and kills the immersion because it's a Windows-like UI. Sigh... "
I thought it was better this time around myself.  Overall, my biggest concern is that once you're past the demo area that the rails come off because if they don't it's going to be fairly tedious after a point. I also hope we can port demo saves over to the main game because I can't say I really want to replay all of this tutorial/prologue area all over again.

Agreed.  Even more importantly than reviews will be user feedback from the brave souls that make the jump on this.

At least the folks behind Gothic 4 had the guts to put a demo out. Hell, how about Kane and Lynch 2? Even they had the guts to put a demo out.

I really wish that were industry standard to the point that if a demo doesn't come out before a game's release, you just KNOW without a moment of doubt to avoid that title like the plague.

This game isn't bad. I'll probably still buy it because I need a fix.

Risen 2 is going to be where it's at, though. I loved the first Risen.

One week apart supposedly. Oct. 12 for Gothic 4 on 360 and PC (PS3 March of next year!), Oct. 5 for Two Worlds II.

I can't believe they only want $20 for this. I hate to tell you how many games I've bought worse than this that cost a lot more than $20. Take a gamble folks. I think you'll be happy if you're into this sort of thing. For another $20 pick up the Penumbra set and a support a crew that deserves it.

My two cents. :)

I like it. Took down the PC demo. Played with both KBM and 360 controller. You can't map the controls at all but I saw with the 360 controller that left trigger gave a lock on target option and the analog stick allowed you to control player speed from walk to run.

With KBM it's default run at all times, no target lock, and the Z button is supposed to be for zoom and I'll be damned if I can see that doing anything. I'd prefer to play this with KBM if I can but it looks like either way you go it's going to control well and be a solid game. I hope the rails are gone in the final game vs. the way it was in this demo. I also wouldn't have minded a little more control over the camera.

I'll need to raid the settings.ini file.

So Two Worlds 2 has been delayed? Is that confirmed? I still see mostly Oct. 5's holding all around.
