Tales of Symphonia...*nostalgic tear*. That game still holds a place in my heart even after all these years. Every now and then I feel a sense of regret for selling my Gamecube, mostly because of that game.  The recent Tales games have yet to take ToS's place as my favorite among them.

The Baten Kaitos games were also fun Gamecube JRPGs. Baten Kaitos 1 had really lol-worthy voice-acting, though. They both had excellent soundtracks, too. I miss playing them. :(

This thread makes me want to go and replay DMC3, but I'm too lazy to hook up my PS2 at the moment.

" Dante is awesome in the face of a hundred things that SHOULD make him lame.  He's a white haired, half demon pretty boy mercenary who dresses in red and black, fights for humans, uses tons of ridiculous catchphrases and hardly ever has to even break a sweat in a fight against final bosses.  He even goes so far as to have a twin brother who's evil and dresses in opposite colors from him.  He sounds, straight up, like a fanfiction character. He still pulls it off with an amazing amount of class and style, despite the blindingly painful Oedipus complex he has going on.  Dante is pretty awesome. "

I agree with this so much. Dante just defies logic. I ought to be banging my head against something whenever he opens his mouth during a cutscene, but instead I'm unashamedly cheering him and his stupid one-liners on.

Man, Star Ocean 3 & 4 sucked so much when it came to characters (and plots, but that's a different topic) :( . Edge Maverick made me throw up in my mouth a little when the name was first revealed, especially since whoever came up with his character probably named him that in all seriousness, but SO 3's main hero is pretty bad, too.

I've played about ten minutes of KH 1 myself and never really got into it, but I can say that listening to my friend try and explain the absolute mess that is KH's plot is pretty funny.

My mother had us going to church for quite awhile. Went to Sunday school for a good few years as a kid, too. Sunday school was alright, but the more I thought about church, the less I thought I belonged in the congregation. Then we moved and my mom started working on Sundays, so we stopped going. The last time we went to church was on Christmas Eve in 2009. That hour cemented the fact that I Catholicism and I no longer jive with one another.

"Final Fantasy XII, while not being close to good, is pretty un-japanese (comparably, at least). "

This is a solid suggestion. The game hides its turn based combat well, there are no random encounters in the sense that enemies appear out of nowhere and engage you, and the visual style and character designs aren't typically Japanese. It may not be the most beloved in the series, but I loved XII. "
I agree with these guys. I'm not the hugest fan of what I've played of FFXII (which is more than half of it. I want to say I'm about 30 hours in), but I don't abhor it like a good chunk of people who play FF games seem to. My opinion of its quality is somewhere in the middle, but I think there is definitely a lot less J in it than most of the JRPGs I've played over the years. It's just too bad that the narrator is really grating. And doesn't believe in wearing a t-shirt. :( . I also echo Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, which is a very different experience than Persona 4. There is a distinct lack of anything light-hearted and wacky in it. The protag is pretty much on his own from beginning to end.

This x10 million. Do they even sell Vanilla Coke anymore? I haven't seen any in years. :(

I'm trying to stay away from soda now, though, especially dark sodas. I'll have a Sprite on occasion, which is alright, but I love Ginger Ale.
