@TheMasterDS:
And don't forget that the N-64 version of Conker's Bad Fur Day had some of the most epic split-screen muli-player ever!

Squirels vs. Teddy Bears FTW!

I agree, this is probably the biggest challenge as a story writer for a game. Part of the appeal is the player having input in the story, being able to change the outcome; but the all the different stories need to flow to the same end. It really didn't matter if you saved the council or let them die in ME1 because the other citadel races are still wary of humanity, it didn't really matter if you killed wrex or let him live because you would still get to have free reign on Tachunka. That said the game needed to be built the way it was and this is the first game that gives you even the illusion of your personal choices changing the game world.

@HandsomeDead:
That sounds like a much more doable version of what I had in mind.

Noted, segue is not a word I use very often; however I do ridicule segways on a regular basis

I wasn't trying to start a debate on the story cannon or anything, I just think that you should be able to earn enough money to purchase everthing in the game (I don't think that it should be easy just doable)

and @Roboyoto; in hindsight I would not have bought hacking upgrades and gift shop items if I thought there would be a shortage of credits in the game, I just wanted to buy them because they were there and figured I would have the opportunity to make all the money I needed.

I am just thinking that if there is too much or too little currency in an economy then it does not work. Some examples of this are Fable 2, where if you just work long enought to make some serious property investments then it is only a matter of time before you have many times more money than can possibly be spent in the game; and ME 2, where you can gather every credit available and not be able to buy everything in the game. The game itself still works fine; I love the thing, but the economy is not-optimal

@benitobb:
That's what I am afraid of, I love me some Shepard but it would give me a better connection to the other characters plus provide a nice change of prespective to have the cammera over someone elses shoulder. And if you are going to have some DLC it might as well take care of explaining what happened in between the 2 major titles.

ooooooooh! Maybe they can have Segways replace the Mako!

I think that they must have a chatacter reset in order to encourage players to use old saves and not have said players feel boxed into a play-style that may have gotten stale.
It could fit into the above narrative, Shepard goes off to some Alliance or Councel super soldier creating facility and the team must gather intel/set the stage for the final show down. (I'm not a writer, a professional could do a better job with that)

*Spoilers*

I was listening to a presentation from DICE and had an idea for ME3.

Episodic Content!

This might be a better idea as DLC for ME2 but my thinking is I might want to play as someone other than Shepard. So we could get some DLC with you taking off as Garus or Grunt or whoever and pulling a mission or two for Shepard in the down time between 2 & 3. Sent Miranda to infiltrate a Cerberus Facility to see what the Illusive man is doing with the Collector base, Tali has to convice the Fleet to destroy or make peace with the Geth, Mordin has to cure the Genophage to get the Krogan ready for the Reapers, Grunt has to help Wrex unite the clans ... etc.

There are a whole lot of possibilites here that could have a nice 1-3 hr expreience with a begining a middle and end and giving us a wider variety of gameplay rather than just another guy/girl saving the galaxy and could add even more depth to the world and the characters.

Hot damn I am brilliant!!....or maybe not but it was fun to think about.
