Maximum Overdrive- Nothing about this movie makes sense. Apparently machines decide to come to life and attack humans because the Earth is stuck in the tail of a comet (I have no idea what this means, but that's the explanation given in the movie). It's weird because there's no logic behind which machines can come to life and which ones can't. Early in the movie a carving knife tries to kill a woman working inside a diner in which the majority of the movie is set, but after that not a single machine inside the diner poses a threat at all. Mostly the characters are being attached by trucks but for whatever the trucks can't come near the diner or something. Again, nothing in this movie makes sense. Apparently Stephen King was coked out of his mind when he directed this and it shows.
Not a huge fan of straight up metal but I like some its offshoots like grindcore and the like. Been super into Converge lately mostly.
Also been starting to go to more shows lately. Saw Pentagram last week, and I bought my ticket to see Napalm Death next Thursday. Should be a good time.
Probably birthright since it seems to be the easier of the two. Then Conquest. Either way that's a lot of strategy gamin' and I'm pretty happy about it.
Another one that I find particularly annoying: games that claim to have rpg elements but only provide you with character skills and leveling systems.
Deus Ex is one of the few hybrid games where the devs seemed to understand that one of the most important qualities of an RPG is that they allow you to interact with the world and the characters that populate it in meaningful ways. Unfortunately, it looks like very few fpsrpgs are made that way.
It is a little frustrating but at the same time it's immensely satisfying to figure things out on my own. I like that the game offers almost no guidance at all. Even when I solve a puzzle I can't be sure if I actually undestood the solution, if it was dumb luck, or maybe even a glitch.
I leave it on almost all the time. I was kind of wary about how it would impact my power bill but it's so cheap here that it's no longer a concern. I'm paying about $20 a month on average.
