Looking towards 2009, I decided to think more about the games I am looking forward to and I came to this weird conclusion, I have no games* that I really want for my 360. Please note that while I 'technically' do have a game I want, it's not officially announced and a 2009 release is unlikely.

Let's take a look at the games I am anxious for

1) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. 
I wrote about my love for the original and my anticipation of the sequel on my freelance site www.gamefocus.ca to the point that Naughty Dog caught wind of it and mentioned it on their Twitter Feed (Sweet!).

2) Mass Effect 2
This game, while a 360 game has yet to be officially revealed nor is it scheduled for a 2009 release. I really want this, but I doubt it will come out this year.

3) Street Fighter IV
I pre-ordered the PS3 Special Edition since I prefer the PS3 controller for games.

4) Infamous
I don't know too much about this game, but I do think it looks good. Hope to hear more about it

5) God of War III
Another game I love, but I don't know if it will come out this year. If it does, great!

Other games include:

• Killzone 2 (after seeing that intro I am tempted to drop some cash on it)
• Dssidia: FF (FF fan that is I)
• Patapon 2 (I loved the first, but I bought the Japanese version last year, so I already own it)
• Tekken 6 (another PS3 purchase. In fact, I am a larger Tekken fan over Street Fighter, but I spent more money on SFIV in Japan than I did with T6)

If we're talking 360 exclusives Ninja Blade, Bioshock 2 and Star Ocean 4 all look great(and if you live in Europe, Tales of Vesperia should be released in a few months).

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Halo Wars.

Oh and Heavy Rain, and don't forget Rage, which will require only one Blu-ray disc but you 360 lovers will get multi-discs, what a fail

It looks like the PS3 will win this year unless M$ can pull some magic out of the hat.

I too, am pretty surprised to find out that all the games that I am excited about are on the PS3. I'm mildly interested in Star Ocean 4, but that's about it.

" I can't get Lost and the Damned since I bought GTAIV on PS3", you don't really believe that do you? PS3 owners will have to wait but it'll find its way to both the PS3 and 360. In all honesty a year ago Microsoft's 2008 lineup didn't appear to be that great either, but it turned around in late spring. I'm expecting the same sort of thing this year. We shall see though.

I think Star Ocean 4 would have been on my list, but I never played a previous one, and I believe it's only a timed-exclusive, same with The Last Remnant.

I plan on playing the Halo War Demo, but again, it will have to really impress me - I am going into that game with very low expectations.

Halo: ODST should be good multiplayer wise, but I am also looking for a good single-player game - hence why I'm slowly leaning towards actually getting Killzone 2 even though I was 'meh' with the first and the PSP version didn't interest me.

I don't know too much about Ninja Blade, might take a look

I do expect some sort of DLC to arrive on PS3 and PC for GTA IV, but I don't know if it's going to be Lost and the Damned. I did hear that RockStar are trying to set up something for those two, so it is possible, but I still look at the Lost and the Damned as being exclusive.

I can't answer your question mind because I don't follow the 360 release schedule, being a PS3 owner.

All I will say is that the PS3 list looks good. I'm sure Microsoft will have some big stuff to announce. Well I'd assume so.

Exclusive? Yeah, the Assassin's Creed kind. Just wait. ;)

As of now, there's little announced. More will be announced eventually.

ya, he makes a good point, i'm not too sure where my killer app is comin this year. there are a lot of filler exclusives but nothing stand out. halo the way it is isnt a single player game, i'd like to see them change the pace to something similar to rainbow 6 vegas series seeing as its supposed to be more of a tactical shooter.

We remember that GOW3 is confirmed for 2010, right?  So essentially, you have one more ps3 game than 360 game, and it's not like you're buying them all- where is star ocean 4 damn it?
I'm sure they'll be some more announced games (wasn't there something about 2 new exclusives to be announced by may?) but in truth, look at what's coming out for the 360 straight up right now, exclusive or not, and you'll realize that you have a lot to play.

MS seems to realized this.  If you look at the past, they don't plan their year with exclusive games but rather games period.  They realize that, for example, although Street Fighter may not be exlclusive, it's still a game to satisfy gaming. 
But I'd say it's pretty safe to say that they'll be some more game's coming out this year we don't now.  I'm trying to document them on my blog if interested.  Not too much yet, but there has yet to be a game's convention.

Just think about it, what is Rare doing?  They said they'd have some stuff for us in 2009, but we know nothing about any of their upcoming games- not a single one.  And Mistwalker is due for another game rather soon.
And I'm not sure if it'll be exclusive or not, but wasn't Dead Rising 2 just leaked?  That's a good reminder. 


As far as exclusive games announced, this is it, not much though: Star Ocean 4, Halo Wars, Alan Wake, Halo 3:ODST.  Just remember all the other years of this generation- SONY has a history of making their years seem so much better than they come out while MS's never look good but I think it's rather a general agreement that they've had the best games each year since it was released.
