It's times like these where I'm glad I'm incredibly patient, because Amazon is shipping me the game in one week and has been telling me this since I pre-ordered the game a week ago. I don't need to play it right when it comes out, I just want to play it. 

is not the reason why they have pre orders so they can manufacter all the copys they need?

Atlus games are become more popular in the West so I'm surprised they haven't stocked as many copies.

Was thinking about importing it from the US, but might reconsider. Sounds like a European release might be possible still.

my K-mart had a full rack of copies.

So.....you did get an HDMI cable, right?  .....Notice the difference?

I ordered mine from Amazon. . . since they have been AWESOME every other time I have ordered anything, especially game pre-orders.
 
I understand it really isn't their fault, and I was going to pre-order this much sooner than I actually ended up doing so. So, it is partially my fault.
 
I would have figured with the positive press the game has received (even prior to the good reviews), as well as quite a lot of fan anticipation Atlus would have known better.

Gamestops Canadian website still don't list it as released.

Ahh Thats a complete bummer, I knew you were extremely hyped for the game.

I preordered mine from Amazon on March 1 since it was the first day Amazon was taking preorders. I had a feeling this game was going to be a big thing so I stayed on the ball, I didn't even know Amazon was going to be short until my coworker tried to order a copy last Friday and was told up front there was going to be a week delay.

I'm happy for Atlus though, they are a great company and this shows that they are really stepping up in the world of video game publishing. It is nice to see a growing market for "niche" titles, Nintendo could probably learn a thing or two from Atlus as well with their whole current fiasco.

Here is hoping you get your copy sooner than later.

And by "this", I mean retail supply. How the hell does a game that is this anticipated, perhaps surprisingly so, get its shipment fucked up so bad? Several people who pre-ordered it from Amazon are getting their shipments delayed and a vast number of Canadian retailers also got shafted.

Just called a Microplay. Apparently they have the game in stock. About to take the bike and go there now. 
 

update on my status: Amazon has changed the status to shipped and the estimate for delivery is tomorrow. It shows my deluxe edition leaving Kansas around 8:30 this morning (really? It takes 7 hours to relay that info?) so hopefully the quick trip to Pittsburgh goes smoothly. At least I have tomorrow off of work.

I really wish they had reversible covers on it. I want the XBox cover with Katherine but as a PS3 owner I got Catherine instead. Atlus and NIS have both done this before with reversible covers. Guess it'd be too convenient.

Amazon seemed to screw up my preorder for the love is over edition. the good news is that it shipped today and i should be getting it tomorrow. half a day i would have been playing it lost, but whatever.

@FluxWaveZ: Something is messed up in this world. I usually have to wait until Wednesday to get games but after reading the thread talking about it coming out today I decided to go and check it out. Sure enough, Futureshop had the regular edition. They had about 5 on shelves. I picked it up at around 1:00.

Sucks about them not having it but man, this is too weird.

Just called a Microplay. Apparently they have the game in stock. About to take the bike and go there now.   

I pre-ordered from Gamestop yesterday, rolled in there today and picked it up with the artbook, no problems whatsoever.

I don't know if this helps, but the game is really good so far. So, when you finally get it for real you should be happy with it.

Are you also somewhere in the Greater Vancouver area? I got a call from the EB I preordered from yesterday evening telling me that there was a delay with supplier shipping and that I might be able to get my copy tomorrow.

Though we'll see whether or not that actually happens :/

I'm in Ontario, and found it walking into a small, non-franchise EB Games/Game Stop-ish store. I didn't check anywhere else, so I might've gotten lucky.

@FluxWaveZ: For sure you'll get it eventually -- I'm pretty sure Atlus wants to honour all of the pre-orders. Glad you got a rental to keep you busy until your deluxe edition comes in.
