@fortysixandtwo: They were launch window though. By the time I got a Gamecube, the Christmas following release, both were out. That's launch enough for me.

It's either SNES or N64 for me. Why do you put launch in quotes though? I figured it'd mean you'd include launch window or something, but you didn't. If you include launch window I'd say the GameCube because of Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin and Super Smash Bros. Melee, all of which came out within about a month of launch.

Your thread creating MO seems suspiciously similar to the guy that constantly kept creating new profiles and would then spam the boards with threads like this, often proclaiming how video games were so much better 'in the old days' ect. More often than not it was by posting a bunch of boxart covers to what the person thought are the best games ever blah blah blah.

According to the site rules you are supposed to provide some sort of explanation for your claim. You are not really supposed to just post a picture, or link, or video then say "Discuss."

Edit: I think the obvious GOTY is The Last of Us... though I wouldn't complain if it went to something else because this was a great year for games.
