This game takes the number one spot solely on the strength of its destructible environments. This game epitomizes fun and while there are other games this year that are "better" they can't compare with the feeling I get when a giant tower comes crashing down on my head. Priceless.

The squad tactics in DoWII are something I have forever hoped for from an RTS, and Relic delivers on them spectacularly. The novel use of combining RPG elements into the real time strategy is also an excellent step forward for a genre many have lamented as one slowly dying from lack of ideas.

While I respect the Halo games for what they offer and for what they have done for gaming, ODST is the only Halo game that I have been able to say I enjoyed without any qualifications. The campaign was great and firefight is lots of fun. What else is there to say?

The campaign was not as good as the first but still a polished and engaging experience. The addition of spec-ops saved the game as it presented an excellent new take of cooperative gameplay. While similar to the first game's, multiplayer has been streamlined to a point where it renders the first game's obsolete.

Borderlands concept piqued my interest early on, but with the implementation of a new artstyle the game managed to stand out a little more prominently. The game also brought about a loot lust not felt since Titan Quest.

An improved Wii Sports? Why yes please. This game is great and it brought me a joy that no other game this year was able to deliver.
