Is there a way to get rid of the chat on the right side of the screen? It's really in the way and I don't want to use the chat at all.

I don't agree. For me, personally, Rainbow Six is much more about terrorism/anti-terrorism in the singleplayer/coop sense.

There are moments when I feel exactly like this, too. The only thing that seems to help is knowing that pretty much everyone alive on the planet is in the exact same situation as me - nobody knows what will happen.
So just hug your loved ones and be happy you're alive still!

Take YouTube for example. Their "large" player is a joke, and full screen is out since I'm usually multi-tasking, so I have to zoom in to 250% to approximate fill browser.

Nah, there's more than one release. So most pirates are not actually affected, they are just happily playing the game without any problems.
