15 Most Anticipated E32011 Titles

Games! Games! Games! There's a lot to take in at this years E3, but I'm going to try to condense all the upcoming releases into a list of 15 titles that I am looking forward to the most in the next coming months. Don't let the position of these games on this list upset you, for they are not listed in any particular order.

List items

  • I've been a fan of this trilogy since we first heard whispers about it all those years ago. Once the original Mass Effect dropped, it did not disappoint. Sure,it wasn't perfect, but the title stole many a heart with it's deep story, interesting characters and deep universe. Mass Effect 2 took what the original did to a whole new level, and the third and final installment in this sci-fi epic doesn't show any signs of slowing this franchise down in the least. I can't wait to find out how all these gigantic decisions I've been making across two full games will finally play out in the end.

  • The Elder Scrolls titles are no joke. Hours of game play, deep fiction and gigantic lands for the player to explore to almost no end. Epic doesn't even begin to describe this franchise. Skyrim hopes to improve on an already impressive franchise and I, for one, like what I am seeing. I've yet to be let down by an Elder Scrolls game, and I don't think I will be anytime soon.

  • Did you play Arkham Asylum? Um, yeah. Enough said. It's fucking Batman (BatmanBatman.com)!

  • I was a little late to the Uncharted party, but I arrived just the same, and boy did I have a damn good time! The locales, the characters, the story-telling. While the games aren't flawless, it's one of the few video games that come damn close to being so. Most of what I've seen of Uncharted 3 just sort of looks like, well... more Uncharted, but I don't think I would have it any other way. I still play both Uncharted titles on my PS3 to this day, and for good reason.

  • Say what you will about the Kinect and motion controls, but Dance Central is fucking fun. I've never been much of a dancer, but I can't help but hop out of my seat and dance with the on screen avatars in Dance Central. When it comes to anything music, Harmonix always seems to be ten steps ahead of everyone else, and I'm looking forward to what Dance Central 2 has to offer.

  • Aw, come on!

  • I never played either of the early Ninja Gaiden's, or any of their many re-releases, but I've always been intrigued by these games from afar. They always seem to hit a level of crazy that's been extremely compelling for me to watch from a distance, but not so much play. I'd like to see what brand of crazy Ninja Gaiden 3 has to offer this time around.

  • Okay: I missed the boat on BioShock. I downloaded the demo of the original, and while I thought it was amazing, something about these games has always intimidated me. I don't know what it is: Maybe it's the creepy Little Sisters, or the gigantic menacing Big Daddies, I really don't know. Whatever the case may be, I avoided the first BioShock, and the cash-in sequel that followed. This time around, something about Infinite has me really interested. It looks far and away more badass than any of the previous BioShock, and for some reason it just looks more approachable to me. I'll be keeping an eye on BioShock Infinite this year.

  • Finished mocking me yet? I know, I know, music games, right? I've always loved the guitar, but never had the patience to sit and actually force myself to get better at it. I know a lot of the basics, but I'm no Lenny Kravitz. That's why a game that could potentially make learning the guitar a little more interesting to me sounds great. I'll have to see more to make a real judgement, but I am intrigued by what Rocksmith may or may not have to offer. I'm just praying they don't pull a Power Gig.

  • I've never played a Far Cry game, so I don't have much to say, but the UbiSoft demo had me wanting more. Look forward to hearing and seeing more about it.

  • I was a little let down when the demo they showed at the UbiSoft press conference looked so different from what they showed a few years back, but the further into the demo they got, the more I liked what I saw. There were a few moments when I got a very third person Modern Warfare vibe from the demo, but all in all, very entertaining.

  • It looks like Fable, but way awesome. How can that be bad?

  • Not much is known, but the game looks like it's treading on some familiar territory with many of FPS titles I've enjoyed in the past. Can't wait to hear more about this in the future.

  • I lost interest in Reach about halfway through. Hopefully the return of the Chief can get me back on board.

  • It looked like Mass Effect, but with Dr. Spock. I didn't expect much from a Star Trek game, but I was really impressed with the trailer.
