Just give who ever made the TV spot enough money to make the Halo movie and we're set. 
 
This trailer was directed by Rupert Sanders, an up-and-coming filmmaker who also directed the awesome Wolverine video game "Captivity" Commercial and the Halo 3 Believe TV Spots. The Full Length trailer will be released tonight on Spike TV at 10:30 EST alongside with the primer of Band of Brothers.
 

Holy crap!  That looks awesome and it makes Halo look more intense and serious than I really ever considered it to be.

To be perfectly honest that just sold me on the entire ODST project/game. Gave who made that trailer money to make a ODST movie and a huge raise. Seriously.

This is just like what they did with Halo 3 and the "John 117 Memorial". I have to admit, whoever does Halo PR should get a High-Five.

It will be shown on Spike TV today at 10:30 PM Eastern along side the premier of Band of Brothers.

This should be in cinemas everywhere so everyone can see how awsome this is.

Nice ad, don't know about letting the producer create the film though. The film will need a big name behind it, not someone working for Microsofts advertising division.

Awesome commercial, is it just for a commercial or will the game have such cinematics? That would be ace. I always love some good live action + cg stuff. The last one I remember (other than Command & Conquer obviously) was for Omega Boost, I guess they went out of fashion...

I like the Halo marketing stuff, like those live action Halo 3 commercials, that massive diorama of a battle, and those Landfall shorts by Neill Blomkamp more than the games themselves.  It makes the Halo universe a lot more believable.

Who directed this? It's absolutely fantastic, and, to me, is more proof that a Halo movie might not be a waste of everyone's time.

I don't even like Halo and that made me want to play the damn game. That was epic.

Alright, the commercial / short film was directed by Rupert Sanders, and you can view the rest of his work here, at his website. He also directed the incredible Halo 3 'Believe' spot, which is on Youtube here. Apparently he's working on some film with DiCaprio that isn't due out until 2011.

I can't tell you how many times I rewatched that trailer. I've been on the fence over this game and as dumb as it sounds to allow a non-gameplay trailer to push me over the edge but I think I'll be making a purchase this October.

However more than anything it just makes me excited for the Halo Movie.

I could be wrong but I think you can reserve till one day before. There is no code for the Reach beta, it's something like the beta for Halo 3 on the Crackdown disk. "

Awesome... you know what? I think a Halo movie might actually be okay, if it's just as stylized as this.

Ok, after seeing those Halo clips, I am convinced that Rupert Sanders should be the one to direct the Halo movie, if it ever gets made.
