As with all cool things on the internet, that dream was ruined when a couple got completely wasted on camera and the husband began taking off his wife's clothes on camera while she was passed out.
Classic Ironman on Xcom Enemy Within is currently owning my ass with it's dumb roll-a-miss useless ASSHOLE soldiers, and yeah it makes me angry sometimes
but I tried turning off ironman a couple of days ago and the edge was gone, it didn't really matter whether i put a soldier in one place or another because i could just reload if things went wrong.
having consequences adds tension, it makes the whole thing a lot more vivid. and to me that's more important than beating or finishing a game.
PS4 because i find the whole idea of the Kinect ludicrous, why would i shout or wave my hand when i could just press a button? even if it worked 100% of the time, since when has pressing a button on a controller ever been any hassle? when did you ever go, aw jeez i wish they'd come up with an alternative for this all button pressing shit? it doesn't make any sense, it's awkward and disruptive to shout needlessly in your home, just what the hell is going on around here?!
even down the line if the extra cost wasn't a big deal anymore, there's the fact that navigating the menus almost seems dependent on it, and then there's the whole tv thing, which i wouldn't use at all, but sure, if there was an exclusive or two i really wanted to play, and i could afford it, i could ignore all that shit. but the PS4 already does exactly that for a hundred bucks less.
everytime i hear of another example i feel a little bit sicker.
whether it affects me or not is beside the point. it can only have bad consequences, as unsupervised kids run riot with credit cards, leaving uninformed family members to foot the bill. next to that, what's the upside? the kid finishes the game? the kid has fun? microsoft makes more money?
the comlaints made against Viking: Battle for Asgard were pretty much identical, that too was a great looking atmospheric game with simple enough combat that I freaking loved.
i don't mind a simple combat system if mastering it creates a smooth experience, and the world on display looks like it's more than enough to hold my attention.
@ll_exile_ll: yeh that's pretty much the reason I don't play any mmo's at all anymore, but it's a given, and i wanted to hear more about stuff like how the party interaction works in dungeons and combat
@sammo21: i'm still not understanding the problem, having one weapon until after tutorial doesn't sound like an issue at all, neither does crossing wow with guild wars unless it's broken in some way, are you sure you didn't just get out of the wrong side of the bed?
