@facelessvixen: There is a very real skill ceiling some people will hit with the ability to execute dodges and moves which has nothing to do with observation or patience. Elden Ring and all other souls games aren’t like chess, you’re not going to simply out-think them. If your reflexes are really poor then you’re out of luck with some of these bosses.

That said I dunno if an entire mod is needed. If you want to experience the world and story then you can simply download cheat engine and boost your stats to 999 and roll through the hard encounters. It is admirable someone went through the effort though.

@nameredacted: How could they make good on the hype at this point? The game is out, it largely is what it is and you’re either fine with it or you’re not and just don’t play it. The only realistic way to maybe make good on it is actually to release self contained DLC that maybe incorporates some ideas that got left on the cutting room floor.

As for the work culture and the public in general forgetting? Of course. This is nothing new. Have you seen any new articles being written on how Ubisoft is doing these days? What about EA after the colossal miss handling of Anthem? Naughty Dog? It’s always a hot topic until it isn’t, and that’s the sad state of the industry as a whole - studios and journalists included.

Last game I remember making me go wow was inFamous Second Son which I got along with my PS4 and the higher framerate and graphical fidelity was a real like “wow now THIS looks next-gen!”

@maian1: I think those cards are probably the most esoteric thing in the game that could use a few more pointers. Some of them I couldn't decipher like for instance the shield card that apparently increases your parry window? The illustration of a shied with a jewel did nothing to make me think that is what it actually does.

I wouldn't mind dipping back in when they release some Blood and Wine sized DLC down the road. I was extremely fortunate in that my PC experience was pretty bug free at launch and I had a pretty great time with the game from start to finish so going back in a few years later and seeing all the tweaks to the base experience is going to be pretty interesting.

When they got to that scene where Chief walks out into the world, as if for the first time, feeling all these emotions.. I just turned it off and don't plan on going back to it. Life is too short.

@monkeyking1969:They already are getting paid, by the giant corporation that owns the site at the moment. Subscriptions are obviously an incentive for that giant corporation to keep the site around and Premium content is what incentivizes users to continue subscribing. As many people have pointed out, this is not another thread whining about the "good ol days" it's a genuine question about the current state of their premium show lineup. If some want to continue subscribing even when they aren't really getting much out of it that is their choice, but it is not completely outlandish for people to question what the plan is going forward.

@broshmosh: Someone is asking very politely what is going on with Premium content that was a big push when they announced their new format of “premium shows” that would be the new core of Giant Bomb. I have been around for as long as anyone and I always find it more perplexing when people basically say they would keep buying premium even if GB would broadcast pure static for 3 hours a day.

As someone recently put it: it’s not bad enough to stop watching. Which isn’t a glowing endorsement by any means but also isn’t a condemnation.

I haven't played one of these Lego games in ages but I remember when they just started coming out and I played Phantom Menace it was a surprisingly pleasant and fun experience. Enough time has gone by that I can see myself going through the entire saga. That last movie was not very good but maybe it would make a good videogame.
