Games I beat in 2017

Let's do this again!

List items

  • I really enjoyed Dead Rising 4 more than I thought I would. Ultimately, it is a game that is held back by its many bugs, but I still enjoy killing zombies in this series more than any other. The last quarter of the story moves along too quickly and does not allow a natural progression to the story, or an ending that felt earned. It seemed as if this entry in the series wanted to expand upon the Frank West character more than the other games had, but sadly it failed to do so in a satisfying way. It's a fun game, but I would not lament those who decide to skip it.

  • Overcooked! is too much fun! I have not played all of the extra content, but the main campaign mode is varied, fun, and oddly lengthy.

  • Monument Valley does not run out of clever ways to make players think and experiment with its many puzzles. Part of the reason for this is most likely due to its perfect pace.

  • I was sitting on a save file right at the end of the game, and put off completing it in favor of leveling up my party and their support ranks. I finally finished it after 60+ hours and I absolutely loved this game. It rekindled my love for strategy rpgs.

I really enjoyed listening to the characters, and watching them fall in love and so on. It makes a game about defeating an evil entity much more grounded and relatable. I can't wait to experience the new Fire Emblem.

  • Furi came out on the Xbox One in 2016 and I had been wanting to play it ever since the Giant Bomb quick look. This game made my "best of 2016" list, so anything more in-depth than "this game is awesome, go play it" will be on that list.
