I, too, hope this game turns out ok. Because a lot of it feels like it's going to be a mess.

Dishonored 2: Death of the Outsider is more of a standalone expansion but Billie Lurk is a pretty kickass lady. It's first-person though if that makes a difference to you.

Heaven's Vault is a pretty fantastic game if you're looking for a more narrative, adventure style game.

I will never stop recommending Prince of Persia 2008 to anyone who asks for the rest of my life.

It's unfortunate but you'll probably find more examples of black protagonists in the smaller games. Just off the top of my head, Dandara and Neo Cab come to mind.

I'm not American so not incredibly clear on the current state of discourse of what a POC entails but if we're just talking about games where you play as not-white people there's also a bunch of Japanese-developed games starring Japanese characters.

So you'll "agree it didn't do it well enough for everyone" but also the people who think it didn't execute its storytelling well enough (which is a significant part of the 'backlash' you chose to omit) apparently have an agenda and didn't give the game a fair shake. What are we supposed to be honest about?

PS Now would be great if it was something I could actually access in my country. At this point it seems unlikely that Sony's going to expand their data centers to other parts of the world any time soon.

There was a thread in the Fire Emblem section of the now defunct official Nintendo forums that was titled something like 'FE Fan Fic Thread' that was shockingly not horny at all and instead ended up being a place for roughly 15 or so people to just chat and write short sketch comedy bits involving Fire Emblem characters. It went on for a couple of years so the characters ended up becoming pretty well defined as particularly funny personalities people introduced in their skits would get used in new ones which felt like a pretty fun bit of collaborative writing.

I'm sure if I could read through that thread again a lot of it would be extremely goofy but it was a good bunch of people that I still remember from time to time and was a fun, low pressure way to exercise our creative muscles a little bit. I don't think I posted in any other part of those official Nintendo forums but I was pretty sad to see it shut down because of this thread.

I know this has no relevance to any of the criteria you desire to find but 2K16's story mode involves ghosts!!!

Any Borderlands game but get the writing team for Tales from the Borderlands to write it instead.

Checking in from Singapore, masks are worn by pretty much everyone when out and about, surely helped out by the government giving out masks along with its mandate to wear them. People have definitely gotten more lax about social distancing since we moved into our 2nd phase of reopening about 6 weeks ago and you might see people neglect to put their masks back on after finishing their meal and continuing to converse unmasked but by and large the majority of people are still doing the basics like it's become second nature.

Part of being in a country that has experienced pandemics fairly recently and has a solid healthcare system that has kept Covid-19 related death rates extremely low means that while everyone is familiar with and performs basic precautions easily, there's a degree of complacency that everything will mostly shake out fine which can be dangerous.

Wait that's ludicrously overpriced for the components that are in it. Who is this for? It isn't even Metal Gear themed!

There's like, multiple bad premises that this 'argument' is apparently based on, from the idea that people who didn't like TLOU2 didn't understand it to the idea that you can't tell relatable stories in fantasy worlds. What a wild idea that you think a zombie post apocalypse is somehow more relatable than anything 'fantasy'.
