I'd love to tell you all about it, so I will. Spoiler'd because of some lightly foul language.
I used to rock an "offline account" for GTA IV, because you NEED to have a GFWL account just to play the single player. Then I moved from Vista to Windows 7, and got an updated version of the GFWL client. Restore my Steam backup of GTA IV, the save is gone. Okay, I'll just copy the save folder from my backup Windows user profile. Nuh uh! In fact, there's no option to create an offline account.
I got DiRT 3 on the Steam summer sale, I guess that one would need a real GFWL account for the multiplayer, maybe I should just create one. Oh, that closes the game and opens Xbox.com. Okay, I'm not planning to get an Xbox, but I guess that's how you do this... What? Gentle Jupiter? "You get ONE name change, ever". Ironlink. No? I guess I'll try some other ones I've used before. Nope. Well, screw you. Obviously, there can't be 2 persons in the world with the same name. That would be the end of everything.
Hey, remember when you'd just type a fucking name into the game, and be done with it? Why can't I do that? I don't want to be Gentle Jupiter, or some other random shit.
OH, and another thing: passwords. I've got the option to either let the game save my password in some readable format (hey malware/hackers, steal my account!), or type it in every time I launch the game. This is my main mail account, it's got quite a lengthy, advanced password. Ugh. WHY. I guess I should have known to go set up a new Live account just for this stuff, right? FUCK THIS, DIE IN A FIRE, STOP MESSING UP GAMES!
