T.E.D. - Test Experiment Discover

My new brainchild:

No Caption Provided

It is a mark that focus in experimental and creative new ideas, aiming to facilitate and improve people's lives.

It is financed through third-parties, and doesn't cost a dime.

Try, Experiment, Discover...

This is something I have being thinking about for a while, and now it is done. It is mainly a brand, that takes the principles said at heart, and tries to create something new and unique, even if inspired in existent ideas, but resisting the thought of blatantly copying ideas and businesses.

It is mainly aimed at art and culture, although it also involves new forms of expression, and games.  Although games for now are not equated as it is difficult to publish from Portugal.  But afterwards who knows. ^^

Wish me luck!

Hotel Dusk: After Impressions

I always liked Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I bought my original DS, that got lost, because of it.

It is such an original and well made game, unique in the repertoire or the Nintendo DS. It has a convoluted and interesting story, simple yet good artwork, and functional gameplay.

The game sometimes due to the long winded experience it provides, sometimes got stale on me, still interesting enough to finish it.  Still I've got to say I was disappointed about the ending. The story never really wrapped up, and the characters whose key for solving the mystery never really materialize in the story. It was bad, as it seemed to shamelessly wave at a sequel to give a proper conclusion to the story.

In the end, t is a great game, but disappointing as time passes by.

Dying Garden

What happens to a yard, when its keeper dies?

Slowly, silently, fades away... to the distant memory of its youth.

My friend

My friend, I am not what I seem. Seeming is but a garment I wear -- a care-woven garment that protects me from thy questionings and thee from my negligence. The "I" in me, my friend, dwells in the house of silence, and therein it shall remain for ever more, unperceived, unapproachable. I would not have thee believe in what I say nor trust in what I do -- for my words are naught but thy own thoughts in sound and my deeds thy own hopes in action.

When thou sayest, "The wind bloweth eastward," I say, "Aye, it doth blow eastward"; for I would not have thee know that my mind doth not dwell upon the wind but upon the sea. Thou canst not understand my seafaring thoughts, nor would I have thee understand. I would be at sea alone.

When it is day with thee, my friend, it is night with me; yet even then I speak of the noontide that dances upon the hills and of the purple shadow that steals its way across the valley; for thou canst not hear the songs of my darkness nor see my wings beating against the stars -- and I fain would not have thee hear or see. I would be with night alone.

When thou ascendest to thy Heaven I descend to my Hell -- even then thou callest to me across the unbridgeable gulf, "My companion, my comrade," and I call back to thee, "My comrade, my companion" -- for I would not have thee see my Hell. The flame would burn thy eyesight and the smoke would crowd thy nostrils. And I love my Hell too well to have thee visit it. I would be in Hell alone.

Thou lovest Truth and Beauty and Righteousness; and I for thy sake say it is well and seemly to love these things. But in my heart I laugh at thy love. Yet I would not have thee see my laughter. I would laugh alone.

My friend, thou art good and cautious and wise; nay, thou art perfect -- and I, too, speak with thee wisely and cautiously. And yet I am mad. But I mask my madness. I would be mad alone. My friend, thou art not my friend, but how shall I make thee understand? My path is not thy path, yet together we walk, hand in hand.

Stories: Games VS Movies: The Showdown!

Like a very bad game name, this blog pretends to discuss which stories are best, and if games are really tracking behind in this department.

So lets get on with it!

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I for myself, think not. I feel most stereotypical stories are over-abused in movies. I don't see a big amount of fresh ones or high quality plots currently, despite of course an exception or two - Inception comes to mind with its clever ideas, but i think the Matrixy execution took its toll, and made the overall impression weaker on me.

Maybe i'm seeing the wrong movies and right games, i don't know.

What do you think?

Would you recommend a movie (or more), so i can finally see the light and the wrong in my ways?

Who is getting the Deadliest Warrior?

Speaking truthfully I never really followed the show, despite liking the few episodes i saw,

But i'm thinking of getting the game...

The game seems bare, with only height fighters and five stages. But it will take a "realistic" (as much as video games come) to fighting, with one-hit kills, close and long distance fights, bleeding to "death", realistic weaponry, fighting styles, mini-games and fighter customization. Also online play, For just 800 points. It looks good for me.

A sneak-pick:

And a preview from Kotaku that turned into a review.

Is anyone else thinking of getting it in June 14th?

My dreams

I'm a man of many dreams, not only waking ones, but sleeping too.

Today I visited Italy in my dreams, I went to Rome and Milan, walked along Venice's channels and was sad with the polluted state of the water.

My imagination is really vivid! Then, why should i pay for vacations, when i can go there for free?
