I am currently sitting here at my computer bored. So what better time than to post a blog? Anyway I have been randomly playing my SNES today gathering info for a game edit and came across an old SNES game called Phalanx  Despite the fact that it’s a pretty old game it still seems fun. It isn't the most revolutionary game ever made, but it gets the job done. If you guys can find it on emulation or if you have it I would recommend playing through it once or again if you have it somewhere. Also if you want to do neither Handsome Tom from Game Heroes has you covered below.

Well enough about Phalanx and on to something just as awesome, the UFC. I don't know how many people watch UFC fights on Giant Bomb, whoever saw the Evans vs. Machida fight feel free to leave a comment about what you thought. I myself thought the fight was great, mainly because I was pulling for Machida, but Evans got dominated through and through by Machida and I can only feel sorry for the next guy who fights him which may be Rampage Jackson.

Update: Appearently the food review was deleted somehow so that will be for another day and the embeded video is now back. sorry for the crappy work on the blog post.

I hoped you enjoyed the blog. If you have any suggestions that could make me a better blogger feel free to comment below. (Hint: I kind of new to blogging)

The following is my completed and updated review for UFC 2009: undisputed. Why complete? Well somehow while I was writing it I had to leave for something which took several hours. I came back and somehow it had published itself and was also my first attempt at a review on the site. So if you can endure here is my completed review for UFC 2009 Undisputed.

This review will be short, but I have to say UFC 2009: Undisputed is a great game with indepth controls, but maybe too indepth for some people. The first thing that you should do is play through the tutorial. This will give you almost all the information you need to know to become a decent fighter. The one gripe I have with the tutorial is that the clinch game is talked about poorly. It tells you to strike or use the right stick to pull away from the opponent. (I find it much more effective to try and catch the block and the clicking in the lift stick to break away from the opponent.) Once you have done that I recommend a few fights offline so you get the feel of the game. The AI is pretty much a push over on the default setting, and the only time I lost against the computer is when I was playing with my Create a fighter who was terrible starting off. The Graphics are quite good making the fighters look very close to their real life counter parts. The animations sometimes look somewhat mechanical, but due to the sheer fun of pummeling or submitting your fellow competitor wither online or offline these minor flaws can be overlooked. The best part of the game is online, however there are a few problems. First off there can be lag online and it seems slightly more prevalent than it should. The major complaint I have with UFC Undisputed is how it deals with people who disconnect. The game doesn't do anything about it. This is a problem I find inexcusable and somthing the developers should have seen coming. The game basically rewards quitters by not giving them a loss therefore cheating the more skilled played of a well deserved win. Disconnecting is only really a ranked match problem, as I haven't heard of may people disconnecting in player matches. Even with the disconnect flaw in the game I find myself coming back to the game everyday playing more and more. I would recommend this to any UFC fan and any gamer looking for a great fighting game.

Well here goes nothing. I figured I would start slow and just do the standard introductory post. I'll start off by saying that my real name is Jared Leland and I currently just finished my Sophomore in college. I'm very big into video games having played them since I was very young. Hopefully I can actually turn this blog into something interesting that you the reader can enjoy. Some hobbies I enjoy is collecting NES and SNES games, which while relatively small at the moment is getting larger every few weeks. Also in this blog I hope to add my own thoughts about the gaming industry and throw in some game review both classic and new. Feel free to leave a comment or suggestion about what you think would be cool and I'll try and incorporate it into my plan for the blog. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and have a great day.
