Well considering I bought my original xbox back in 2006, and had Microsoft replace it due to red ring in 2007, I doubt they'd honor any warranty on an almost 5 year old purchase.
For the record, I'm not mad at Microsoft. They took care of my initial hardware problem years ago at no cost, and the little guy kept chugging away for over 4 years with no problems. Considering how many PS2s I went through during that console's life-cycle, it's a pretty good run I got out of the microbawks.
My 360 crashed on me last night. I was playing Super Meat Boy and it suddenly froze (the screen got all blocky and pixelated and it made a loud screeching). I turned it off and then back on, and now it freezes on the dashboard before I can even load a game.
Am I just right effed or is there some kind of fix for this? It isn't a red ring situation, so I assume it was a GPU temp problem (from what I read online). Any bombadiers run into this specific situation? I am thinking of just tossing it and getting a Slim but with school around the corner extra cash is hard to come by.
ps I was told by an associate of mine of a weird trick to fix it if it is a GPU overheat situation that involved shoving toothpicks in the fan to get it to reset, but I am hesitant to attempt such daring feats of do.
if you don't care about collector value, then you want to sell at least ICO asap. Shadow has no resale value of significance, but ICO can still fetch 40-60 bucks depending on where you go. once this collection hits, the value will odds are drop significantly.
Yes it is still technically unannounced, but stuff like this just helps cement the likeliness of it happening. Of all games on the PS2 that deserve another shot at finding an audience, it would be these. Also, the whole 'games as art' debate could definitely be aided by having the posterboys of the pro games readily available to the public.
Knights of the Old Republic II Sith Lords was the best thing to happen to the Star Wars franchise since the original trilogy, from a story and character standpoint (even with the game having been shipped too early thanks to Lucas wanting it out by the holidays).
@Gizmo: That's incredibly debatable, but I'm not about to get into an argument over the band's quality or lack thereof, because there will be no possible resolution outside of "well fuck you then" lol.
1)Nintendo is a company run by insane people. Every significant figure in the company has some severe mental disorders.
2)98% of Japanese RPGs are dogshit for the last two generations, and most of the talented people who worked for Square back when they were influential (ie PSone era) have left the company for greener pastures. We're left with really flashy weeaboo reacharounds and dating sim bullcrap and it makes me sick.
3)Shooting games can be really fun from a mechanical standpoint, but when they rely on Tom Clancy esque presentation it makes me want to claw my damn eyes out from all the "bravo echo romeo come on ladies put on your training bras and lets move out" horseshit.
4)Silent Hill as a franchise has been fan-pandering mindless crap since Silent Hill 4. The series is dead and all you hangers on need to let it fucking die.
FINAL WORD) Metal Gear Solid 4 was the biggest failure of a once-glorious franchise in video game history. Everything about it from a story, dialog, and voice acting standpoint was terrible, it tangled the previous games in a hastily thrown together resolution of series mysteries, it pandered to idiot fans with the most eyerolling moments I've ever seen in a game, and it pretty much sullied the legacy of the previous titles to the point where I no longer have as much enthusiasm to replay them. All this, with having followed the best game of the series (MGS3) I just don't know what the hell happened, but Kojima is now on my shit list. NEVER FORGIVE, NEVER FORGET.
