I normally have 2-3 at a time that I alternate between based on mood. Although when a juggernaut like Skyrim comes along, that's the only thing I play. Some games demand my full attention where as others don't.

see i just can't make the promise of exclusivity to a game like skyrim. i love going in for hours on end and just absorbing the universe, but to me that's the perfect kind of game to be put on the backburner until you need a break from whatever other game has come along. since there isn't really a focused narrative to attend to, leaving it for a few days/weeks won't be to much detriment (of course, i only started playing other games after about 50 hours of nonstop skyrim, so i totally feel ya).

Do you for the most part immerse yourself in one game at a time, finish it, and move on to the next adventure, or do you alternate between games with each session?

I used to be a contended one-game type of guy, but now that there are so many unfinished games and unexplored worlds at my disposal i find it hard to commit to just one, and when i do i often feel an urge to rush through it in order to get to the next one. Needless to say, this detracts from the experience. On the other hand, it seems that playing a number of titles at once might similarly detract, in that spreading yourself too thin takes away from the sense of immersion inherent in putting 100% of yourself into one game's world. I'm getting closer to finding my happy medium.. what about you?

@evanbower Stating your opinion is fine. Saying that your opinion is "generally agreed upon" without any facts to back it up carries about the same weight as debris floating about in space...how could you possibly know what the general consensus is? Did you ask everyone who ever played the Final Fantasy series? Or did you see a couple of people in forums agree with you and conclude that it is now "generally agreed upon"? Who's to say people who disagree with you even post on the forums you read?

again, the FACT that FXII largely deviates from past titles is largely understood/obvious, and most people with minimal amounts of forebrain function don't need quotes from the jrpg journal of scientific discovery in order to get there. how can you not see this!? tell me. please. now. explain your lack of analysis. do it.. do it. and back it up with some credible sources else i dismiss it as opinion.
