I too grew up speed clicking in Diablo, but was forced to change my ways when I rolled healing classes in Everquest and World of Warcraft.  Clicking just couldn't keep up with the pace of healing, and now I find it infuriatingly slow in all RPGs.

@Red: The mention of GB isn't the topic of conversation.

@Video_Game_King: Well, unless you read.  The question is really meant for folks who frequent multiple review outlets and have some sense of each.

@Video_Game_King: Probably not (it would only work if you assume that all scores are compatible with another).

@Video_Game_King: Wrong.  I'm not asking about meta scores between publications, I'm asking about observable trends among reviews.

@Video_Game_King said: " @Suicrat:   Hmm, good point. Then again, I tend to use scores as a sort of "quick review system": let's say I don't have the time (or attention span (that's always a given)) to read a review. I look at the score, maybe the good/bad tab if there is one, weigh all the different factors at hand, and then get the game based on that. I agree, people ...

@nrain said: " The 5* system has worked fine for films forever, why not for games? 100 scales only exist for fanboy fuel. "Really trying to kill this hijack before it happens.  Not trying to start a discussion on the merits of review systems.

@MysteriousBob said: "   I believe Giant Bomb acknowledges that these are afterall just opinions and the star rating isn't a representation of the game's quality, but rather an indication of how likely you are to enjoy it. It makes much more sense as its more qualitative while still being a set number thats easy to identify with. I find the notion of a straight score absurd.     "Absolutely true, but ...

  • @Tuffgong said: " Why is it that people think it just has to be either opinions or facts?  Where did we all of a sudden assume things are either dismissible personal comments or absolute scientific law?I think Tuff makes a good point here.  There is a middle ground here and most publications have a review policy (occasionally hidden) that states exactly where they're attempting to tread.  GB has stated pretty ...

My bad, apparently can't delete threads, only posts.  Whoops.  Weird that it didn't come up on search.

Noticed Giant Bomb received a mention in a recen t Destructoid editorial:        The article uses GB to make a point about differences in review scores between publications with IGN as low score and GB as a high score.  The choice of websites might just be arbitrary, but I figured I'd ask; does anyone know how GBs scores trend compared to other magazines and sites?  I usually only look ...

I don't think I've seen anyone say it, but Trauma Center: New Blood for the Wii has consistently evoked laughs drunken and sober alike from my group of friends.  The degree of camp in that story is unparalleled.  Strange Christian undertones combined with some seriously screwed up pseudo-medicine and hilarious ailments (bear attack, anyone?) make this game the funniest I've had the pleasure of playing.  The cut-scenes alone don't make it though.  Co-op with a group of friends and few drinks makes the fast-paced play all the better.  It's to the point where all of us use the various hand signs of the doctors.

The reason I still believe in PC gaming? I've played a dozen LFD2 pickup games now all with great people using voice chat and teamwork.
