To get the federal ending:
When on Mars, talk to the federal agent in the base past the elevator shaft. He is in the very first building to the right. You'll want to hack the door to be able to enter ot, first.
In terms of dialouge, you should go with the choices that genuinly portray you as a greedy traitor. From there on, just roll with it.

To get the fourth ending:
It is still clear of there is a fourth ending, but you'll get the final gate power after the fed ending and be able to go to places that seemed locked beforehand. Join the hunt from there.

For Farming:
Every enemy can drop all types of research

Argh,
Figures that the patch is released shortly after I went on a 2 week vacation. Well, at least something to look forward to upon returning home from what I hear on the Steam boards. Still have to reduce my curiosity to check youtube for a video of the new map and 4th ending.
The only thing that baffles me is that Streum either submitted a beta build to Steam and noticed when it was too late or did not anticipate the demand for a "real ending". Could also be that they planned to see some of the crazy theories that people come up with and decide to implement one, but that would be really weird.
Then again, E.Y.E sure is a weird game.

Running towards your opponents while blocking with the sword, jumping over them using lvl10 cyberlegs, firing the entire clip full-auto into the first row and turning around mid-air to do a backstab upon landing is totally badass.
Another little tip, you can cloak while blocking and it wont break your cloak if you should get hit (if you've got enough energy).

Stealth and Sniping is doable, but very similar to Crysis 2 where you'll have to cloak / shoot / cloak and try to hide behind objects that keep breaking the line of sight of enemies. That approach also works if you'd like to play melee, but the constant engage/disengage/recharge cycle might get annoying after some time. While some weapons are silenced, it didn't have as much of an impact as I'd liked to.

@Resident4t: Endurance affects energy recovery and Cybereye upgrades reduce cloak energy consumption. I found quick energy recovery to be more useful though. The consumption reduction is pretty low, even on level 10 eyes.

Despite my first feelings, hacking is pretty powerful in this game, although it is a bit underpowered in terms of getting experience and money. If you want to play a hacker, make sure to get you hacking stat up to 70-80 range as soon as possible. During missions, you will want to "hack" everything and everyone along the way. While enemies are hacked, new reinforcements won't spawn and you'll have a much easier time getting through the levels. That still leaves you with the metastreumonic force encouncters for which you will want to get sentry guns early on and place them or carry them in front of you. It seems to be a bug, but killing an enemy while holding a sentry counts the same way as if you shot them and yields money/experience (yes, you might want to abuse that, if you already got the game and don't want to wait for the balance patch to come out).

Concerning the mini-game, you can go overflow x 2/3 -> attack x 2 as soon as your skill got high enough. If you should encounter an enemy that proves to be very resistant, you might want to consider opening with mask until his defense is down and then alternate attack / mask. However, past level 10, I usually had no problems beating enemies in the mini-game. Last but not least, cloak is important for that build, but you should be able to get around without it during the first couple of levels. Most, if not all, levels offer alternative paths that allow you to bypass any active combat and concentrate on hacking. While the maps tend to be huge, keep in mind that they are usually not very high. The sewers below New Eden allow you to cross most of the map while hacking everything above you without any risk. As a final advice, if you see your cyber health dropping rapidly or that the enemy is gathering dangerously high attack levels, simply quit the hacking and start new. There is no penalty for exiting the hacking procedure while it is running.

A final word on hacking failures...

If you are beat by the enemy, there are basically 3 possible outcomes:

1. nothing happens (counter-attack fails)

2. you are hacked (the laughing man smiley shows up on the screen - hack yourself to get rid of it or wait it out)

3. you die (brain melted)

You can prevent 2/3 by upgrading your firewall and hacking skill, but you will need quite high stats to consistently avoid being counter-hacked. Therefore it's even more important to bail out early of hacking attempts that go wrong.

Ok, let's see if I get this right for the first post.

Concerning the story, E.Y.E. is supposed to be based on the Divine Comedy (hence the title - Divine Cybermancy) and may appear very weird during the first playthrough. That said, things start to make "more sense" with each successive play, but it still leaves a lot open to interpretation. I'm trying really hard not to spoil anything, but you might want to take into account that everything that happens in-game is supposed to be correct and according to the intentions of the developers - no matter how weird it seems to be (i.e. characters that die magically come back to life just minutes later). It was also stated on the E.Y.E. FB account that the "true ending" is currently impossible to achieve due to a couple of bugs that will get fixed with an upcoming patch. The Steam forums are pretty crowded with potential theories concerning the missing ending and the true meaning of things that happen in this game.

I really like the atmosphere and setting so far (even after a solid 80 hours playtime), but I really wish that they would have taken more time to polish the interface. Really hope that the revenue via Steam gives them the chance to polish things up a bit post-release and maybe get someone to work on the horrible localization. I'd almost recommend to wait for the patch and see how things turn out even if you are interested in the title, especially if you are gaming on a 32 bit system which seems to suffer most from crashes and character resets.
