@vinny@jeffbakalar I excavated at Castellemare di Stabia, that's along the Amalfi coast, on the way to Sorrento. We were excavating at the Villa Arriana there, it was one of the many buildings buried in the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The city currently rests above the Roman city of Stabiae, which is best known as the place of death of Pliny the Elder, he wrote a book called Natural History, but his nephew Pliny the Younger is the reason we understand the eruption as well as we do.
Anyway, it was the best two months of my life being there, it's a great part of Italy and I thought it was neat Jeff went there too.
@unastrike Jason, I work in the warehouse at a Canadian Best Buy because going to school for archaeology never 'dug up' much work afterwards. 1. I apologize for the sales staff at any Best Buy, it's terrible listening to them. 2. Most of the Sharp and Toshiba TV's sold at the store are actually store brand Insignia TV's rebadged as Sharp's and Toshiba's. Stay away from them.
