L.A. Noire Achievements/Trophies Revealed!

Today Rockstar Games has just revealed the achievements/trophies for Team Bondi's game, L.A. Noire. In this case, I will call all achievements/trophies... achievements because I am an Xbox Live user.
These achievements seem like they're unlocked on how you play the game. For example the "Dead Men Are Heavier" achievement requires that the player must kill 100 enemies with their weapon. As mentioned by developers of the game, cases may turn violent or may be just a "walk on the beach". If you're a person who interrogates and makes suspects angry, you'll probably end up with this achievement.
There are a total of 40 achievements. 9 being secret.

Recommended Detective Show: Cold Case

Cold Case was a show that I would watch just about everyday. Basically it's a detective show like CSI, but the cases the detectives solve are from the past (1987, 2003, 1958, etc.). Sadly though, the show is over (2003-2010). So they pick a case to solve and interrogate suspects/victim. Each suspect/victim tells a story of what happened. A scene is then shown from what happened. At the end, the suspect is arrested (if there is one) and the protagonist usually sees the victim in her imagination. The endings were pretty sad to me.

Here is an episode that I found.
Episode name: The Promise
Intro Song Title: "Hey Ya" by Outkast
Finale Song Title: "Fallen" by Sarah McLachlan

L.A. Noire Crime Desk: Patrol

Today Rockstar has just posted NEW info and images for one of the crime desks in L.A. Noire.
 Today's Desk: Patrol

New Info: Partner revealed, how arriving at a crime scene is, guns used by LAPD officers, and more!

Starting out as an LAPD officer means following in the footsteps of so many lawmen before you – literally. Walking the beat and cruising your precinct’s area as an officer on patrol is both how you pay your dues in the police department as well as a time-honored means of honing your skills and intuition to protect and serve. Before you can move up from a uniformed policeman to the suited attire of a crime desk detective working cases, you will have to prove your worth to the higher-ups on the force with some stellar policework on patrol.

As Cole Phelps, working alongside your partner Officer Ralph Dunn, you’ll soon find that a day on patrol in 1947 Los Angeles is anything but routine. Be prepared for anything, and ready to spring into action when those calls come in.

Two of the crimes you’ll face while working in uniform include a violent incident of armed robbery and a gunshot victim homicide.

Exhibits:

Floyd Rose and Rusty Galloway (soon-to-be partner) will be one of the first to see on the scene since they are both Homicide detectives. Just like Carruthers in the Homcide desk, the homicide detectives will give you info about what has happened.

L.A. Noire Article By David Cage

Note that this guy is the founder of Quantic Dream (The people who created Heavy Rain)

Article:

Another week has come, and with it, more commentary from Quantic Dream's David Cage. Two weeks ago, Cage said that Quantic Dream created interactive storytelling. Last week, he called the PlayStation 3 the best platform in the world. This week, Cage told CVG that Rockstar and Team Bondi's L.A. Noire “looks good,” but it's ultimately “an interesting dead end.”

L.A. Noire is built on DepthAnalysis' Motion Scan tech, which uses 32 HD cameras to capture an actor's performance for the game. Team Bondi have utilized Motion Scan to provide characters that the player can interact with and in some cases, even tell if a suspect is lying. Cage says that Quantic Dream is already employing new technology to capture a full body performance as well, but its tech combines the face and body in a single shot.

"What to say about L.A Noire? I think it's an interesting solution to a problem for now. But it's also an interesting dead end. That's exactly what I feel. Their technique is incredibly expensive and they will never be able to shoot body and face at the same time,” said Cage.

"We are doing that now [at Quantic], and our next games will be shot with performance capture. We see a huge difference between shooting the face and body separately and shooting everything at the same time. Suddenly you've got a real sense of acting that is consistent,” he continued.

"[Those using MotionScan] will never be able to do that. The other thing is that they can't have real time lighting. Their technique means they can't have lighting the way I think we should do it. Basically, they take pictures; they take scans several times per frame. They also have limitations on the shaders they use, they can't re-target the eyes because they eyes are captured. When you have actors in real time you like to to re-target the eyes to make sure they look at each other.”

Cage still feels that Team Bondi is doing good work with L.A. Noire, but he says that Quantic Dream's technology has far more room for improvement.

"It's a list of important problems that cannot be solved with their technology. I think L.A Noire looks good - honestly, it does - but I don't think they'll go much further than where they are. With the technology we use, we can improve; there is a lot of room for improvement and we hope to show very soon where we are now. We've made significant progress since Heavy Rain and will continue to make progress until we reach the stage of Avatar. That is probably three, four five years from now."

L.A. Noire to be shown at 2011 Tribeca Film Festival

So supposedly L.A. Noire is supposed to show a preview of the game at Tribeca.... Awesome!
Sadly I can't go though. -_-

What actually makes this news more exciting is that it is the FIRST VIDEO GAME to be presented at Tribeca!
I think this was chosen because of MotionScan.  ;)

Rockstar Network: Destructoid Preview

Well this is one very interesting article. It might even solve questions people have.... such as. "Can you run people over and shoot them?"

Destructoid posted a rather interesting preview of L.A. Noire. A few things were brought up in the preview such as;

Should you attempt to go on a vehicular killing spree, pedestrians will do their best to get out of the way of your car, and if you manage to mow enough of them down anyway -- or wreak havoc in other ways that would be considered unbecoming of an officer of the law -- the game will eventually stop you in your tracks and force you to return to an earlier save game.

We know that many of you will attempt to do this, so go ahead but be prepared to to load your game! Another interesting topic that was brought up was;

Will you be driving around an open-world city and shooting people in L.A. Noire? Yes, but that’s not the focus. I used the word “adventure” earlier, and in fact, that’s what stood out to me in the demo. This game retains some of the familiar trappings of GTA, but at its heart, it can perhaps be best described as an evolution of the classic point-and-click adventure game.

So as you can see, it will have a little bit of "open-worldness" to it, but that's not how they intend you play the game. The thing that struck me most out of this preview was the final paragraph, and it's what I've been wanting to hear for some time now.

L.A. Noire trots along at a very deliberate pace, with few “gamey” conceits. A real detective needs a keen eye and a meticulousness about him; you’ll have to take your time exploring crime scenes and use your brain -- along with the evidence at hand -- to solve cases. As Phelps, you have to be a good guy, but between the variety in crime-scene investigations and witness/suspect interrogations, this game may turn out to be more legitimately open-ended than any Rockstar game before it.

The reason I made those two items bold, is that I think that a lot of you were worried that the actors we are interrogating were going to be over acting, and it will be blatantly obvious what the answer is. After reading this, I am glad that you will have to "use your brain" to figure stuff out, I don't want it to be an easy game, I want to work at the mysteries that are before me!

Are you downloading something? =P

Well my oldest brother usually comes in when the internet is slow and says, "Are you downloading something?"  I used to utorrent download, but I don't do it as much as before. Actually the last torrent download I made was back in November 2010!
Yeah.... the internet is slow because I'm downloading something... it's certainly not because there are 2 other people using the internet no, no, no it's not because of that. -_-
Pay no attention to the guy who's watching Thai movies or the guy who is watching YouTube videos/surfing the web.

*Sigh*
