By the way, the 2-titan fight in the room with the exploding tanks on the wall is the best place to pick up the trophy/achievement for killing a titan without using batarangs. You can force the titans to run into the tanks, or into each other, to stun them. Then you can do the whole titan rodeo thing.
" By the way, I rented the game and finished it easily within a few days. It's a great game, but maybe doesn't have a lot of replayability. So consider renting it instead of buying it. "
I felt this way after my first play though, then I sent it back to Gamefly. The decision to not buy the game has been gnawing at me ever since, because I really want to play through that awesome game again, lol.
Also, and this is off-topic, but I have been wanting to play Uncharted 2 again lately as well...even though I totally hated on that game during the GOTY discussions because I wanted Batman to win so bad ;)
Because this is a pot topic, I thought I would get something off my chest that has been bugging me for a long time.
Anyone ever notice how Jeff G. often complains about the weed references in MW2 and is generally disparaging of pot-smoking in general. Then he turns around and talks about this CRAZY party where he was SO WASTED.
I like Jeff and all, but that's pretty weak. It's like the mind-altering-chemical version of a fanboy system war.
" I have not played Batman, but if someone could tell me... Does that game have a moment that sums it all up? Like just a crazy moment that is so great that it is the first thing that pops in your head when you think of it. Or is it just a solid all-around amazing game? "
" @Kr3lian: Same can be said with inFAMOUS. There's the martyrs, there's the Reapers, Dust Men, Conduits, yadda. Gag ME. Yes, both were amazing games, but the bugs in inFAMOUS weren't as discreet as the ones in Uncharted 2. The side missions were mostly repetitive and I only did most of them just to clear out the enemies in the areas. Jump from one building to unlock the satellites! Save the hostages! Kill the enemies! Woopee. Also, the graphics and framerate can't hold a candlestick against Uncharted 2. Same goes with the story. "
Yeah, the combat in Infamous was a bit repetitive. Like I said, I can acknowledge that game's flaws. I did enjoy the combat more, though. This is a matter of taste. Infamous is also a third person cover shooter, but I enjoyed the city traversal, I liked the fast pace of the shooter parts, and I loved the powers you got to use. Simply more interesting to me than grenades and machine guns.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I think UC2 is a fine pick for PS3 GOTY. Not my pick, but I am okay with it. I don't think UC2 is the best pick for overall GOTY. I feel it should have gone to Batman. And with that, I am pretty much done arguing about GOTY (nothing to do with your comment, I have just been posting about it for a couple of days and topic fatigue has finally hit me).
There are a few very nice things about the VC. First off, the emulation is impeccable. Second, it makes it okay for the press to talk about retro gaming, because they don't have to skirt around the very large and obvious emulation/ROM scene, they can just encourage people to buy the games legitimately. Third, there are a really huge number of great games that have stood the test of time. The VC is filled with games that allow us to explore the origins of many of the conventions we take for granted, and at worst we can see how a lot of the early kinks got ironed out over the years.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Gamefly'd it. It was, I dunno, okay I guess. I liked a lot of things about that game, but it was very middling in most respects.
