@Brodehouse: Go look up "suspension of disbelief". It is not a sign of schizophrenia to let yourself believe that media is real. It's the basis of art.

That immersion video made no sense to me, like the guy was autistic or something. Immersion has a perfectly valid meaing that's different than engaging or exciting or attention-grabbing, or anything else. A billboard with a naked woman on it might grab my attention, but it's not "immersive". It's a pretty literal world, what's the issue? It's a feeling of actually being in another world. Am I weird for feeling this? Like, schizophrenic or something?

Patrick you great. I was in a really big and diverse group of nerdy friends in college and now have a bunch of female gamer friends. This kinda shit is a real problem for half of the gaming community, and it's not just the fighting game side by any stretch of the imagination. It's not a matter of whether it's acceptable or not; if it doesn't stop you lose out on a lot of awesome potential gaming partners. You decide whether rape joke are more important to you than that.

I'm not sure if this promotion is listed anywhere on their website, but several UberEnt devs have said at different times that anyone who signs up for the Beta today, February 14th, Valentine's Day, will get access. Since it's not a public promotion, details are scarce, so it's hard to say exactly what that means; but it probably means that anyone who signs up today will get in with this week's wave of invites. In other words, sign up today and be playing by Friday! If you wanted to check this game out, now's your chance.

Alex you write such great headlines, I could tell this was yours right away. :3 The "now" just adds so much.

Still interest in this? The game builder is more reliable now, so it's easier to play with other people. Easiest way is to be in a Steam group chat room and friend the people you need to play with.

The beta is pretty easy to get into, too. If you sign up https://uberent.com/User/LogOn?RedirectUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fuberent.com%2Fbeta&titleId=1 it seems like you tend to get in within a week or two, when they send out new waves of invites on Thursdays. New invites have been coming with two friendvites, too.

The game is pretty great, so if people were into it I'd be way up for playing. I've been playing with people from another forum, tonight we had three full groups going, good times.

I inferred from the headline that Ace Attorney five was launching multiplatform, including iOS and Android... that would have been awesome! Capcom's really been struggling to retain relevance, especially in the US, and damn that would have gone a long way towards that end. Though, this is still good. Never played these and always wanted to. Hope they manage to realize that you can't price stuff in the US the same way they do in Japan, though!

I always try to at least take a look at your newsie pieces, but this one was a particularly good read. I think the dialogue format adds a lot to the readability, as opposed to just listening to a long speech from one person. Nothing against you, of course; it's a pretty well-established concept (just look at the Socratic dialogues, millennia old!). It adds more insight and helps keep the topic flowing, instead of running the risk of stagnating.

If you could do more dialogues like this, that would be great! Hell, you could even do this in an audio form, kinda like... turn-based podcasting, I guess?

Super glad to see more IGF coverage!

Now, if we could just get some write-ups of what these games are... ;)

Ok, a text list of the games is cool, but how about a proper IGF Finalists feature? Especially since you've been raving about them so much. I mean, it's a pretty slow news cycle anyway. Just a pic or two and a paragraph or so for each game would be really cool!
