Im really boggled about what Anime to watch next, i heard that maid sama show is stupid but fun to watch so i might watch that. 
I mess being overwhelmed with good Anime releases left and right.

Gurren Lagann is my favorite show, it is pure GAR and robot awesome. Also Code Geass is my second favorite, it is Death Note with robots. Hmm, Darker Than Black is pretty good. Bacano, is about mobsters with powers. Ummmm.... I'm sure more knowledgeable people will help. (Or be asses and quote Jeff)

I only recently have gotten into anime. I've been watching One Piece and I love it. It can be ridiculous and dragged out a lot, but the story and unique characters keep me coming back.

The original Fullmetal Alchemist. The first one set the bar too high for the remake :S

The only problem with the new Fullmetal Alchemist is that it can't tell whether it wants to be a comedy or some serious action show.

You should check out Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z Hen, a 2009 Mazinger Z update series.  It's bat-shit insane.  In the first episode, more crazy crap happens than in the entirety of most series.  It calms down a little as the story unfolds, but it is still always running in 5th gear and on steroids.  It has a great look to it that pays homage to the 1970's 'toon, but cleaned up for a modern audience.  The ending is memorable, too.  That's all I'll say on that, though.
 
Also, if you haven't caught Soul Eater, yet, I strongly suggest that one, too.  It's about a school for shinigami/angels of death run by the Grim Reaper.  The series is an action adventure that's very tightly written and moves at a strong pace.  Also, there is a unique art style to the character and background's design somewhat reminiscent of FCLC.

" @masterpaperlink:   Well, my post only mentions the ending of Shin Mazinger, not Soul Eater.  Having said that, though, I didn't mind the end of Soul Eater.  I think it felt rushed at the end, though and that's a bit of a let down but these things happen from time to time in anime.  That doesn't mean that the journey is any less enjoyable.  I remember when I watched Gash Bell for 140 episodes then discovered that the show was canceled and all plot points had to wrapped up in 10 episodes.  It happened so suddenly, the production team couldn't even get the same voice actor of the main character for the remaining 10 shows.   But, I still liked what I experienced getting there and would recommend it to anyone who likes action-comedies.  A good journey can alleviate the failings of the finale.  "

I've only watched one animé series, and it was a rather short one called Elfen Lied. I recommend it if you like violence.
