(regarding online PC gaming)
Ok, I've come to acknowledge that some players just dont cooperate as a team. But I HATE when I'm on a team and chatting and I don't even get a response! The least you could do is tell me "No way am I going to help guard that control point, fuck off!"

But WHY does it have to stop? If FPS's are proving to be well-suited in an HD environment, why stop making them? Side-Scrollers did great in SNES and NES gaming, and there were a fuck-ton of them, even a ton of good ones too. It's not bad that FPS games are the genre of the generation. It was just the logical game to make with this type of hardware. Besides, I think now is as good as any time to show that HD gaming ISN'T all about the next FPS. What's the big news right now? Games like Trine, Monkey Island, BlazBlu (a fighter for crying out loud), and Bayonetta are showing the HD generation isn't all about FPS.

Japan fading away?

I dont know what he's talking about. Was he asleep when the newest Dragon Quest game came out? Japan's games are alive and kicking.

That said, stale is definitely the wrong word. Oversaturated, probably, but definitely not stale. Also, his article is full of lies and slander.

"There’s nothing to really complain about when you come to the games such as the ones I mention in the first paragraph, but none really tries to be drastically different. It’s all about money, when you get to the meat and bone of it; if you venture too far from the spring, there’ll be no water and the same could be said for the fickle FPS populace."

sorry, I beg to differ. The fact that he references Mirror's Edge's option to play without guns at all contradicts this quote. Let's look at Bioshock too: This game doesn't feel at all like CoD, infused it with RPG elements, and presents the story in a much different manner. Team Fortress 2 surely is not a gritty game, as he said FPS's need to get away from or something like that.

I find his mass grouping of the FPS genre to be slightly disgusting.

I was a Gamespotter up until a little bit after Jeff left. I stuck around for a little longer, but once Navarro was gone I stopped going to GS regularly. I then moved on to the 1up Boards, and caught some of Jeff and Ryan's Arrow Pointing Down work. It wasn't until a month or so ago though that I started coming to Giant Bomb because I found the 1up community to be ok. The thing with 1up though is they aren't so friendly to new people and it is hard to feel really part of a community (except for a group of us NGers, we were cool).

It'll get here eventually just like it always has.

Japan always gets the color releases before North America, and I'm sure before they've said (blank) in different colors won't be coming to America.

My favorite of the movies is still the third one, but this had some great parts as well. Granted, they cut A LOT from the book (like the half-blood prince thing is practically non-existent), and what some don't or forget to realize is this book didn't REALLY have an ending; like Mattzz10 said, this book and Deathly Hallows are very much connected, much more so than the other books were.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny), however, needs to relax! Seriously, she has great potential I'm sure, but she just seems so stiff at times. Emma and Rupert I thought however did a fantastic job playing their pseudo-romance in this one.

Boot Camp that shiz, parallels and that vmware fusion aren't really as reliable for more intensive apps like games. That being said, I read a blog somewhere that said the BF Heroes team will consider Mac support based on how well the game does on windows.
