According to my Battlefield 2 stats I have 53h 18m 18s of time in helicopters, the majority of that being in the pilots seat...so yes, I can fly these helicopters.

If the snipers are really retarded (e.g. 80% of the time) and you're holding the middle, the anti-air is really effective against helicopters. I didn't know there was AA at the bases, but the middle is where the helicopters love to loiter. I took out the enemy helicopter 4-5 times one match without dying (a sniper took a couple potshots at me but he sucked anyway).

Import from ME1, the cheekbones were a bit of an accident but I decided not to change anything in ME2 despite being given the option. EDIT: now with original ME1 Shepard goodness. Wrex.

@scubasteve2010: There's no real indication of what the recommended specifications may allow you to run at. For most games, I would make an assumption that that will allow for medium to medium-high settings with decent framerates, although often times that heavily depends on your resolution (a good median resolution is probably 1280x1024 or 1440x960). At an extreme resolution (I run at 1920x1200, and some may have 2560x1600 monitors), this will probably get you no better than low to medium settings.

Obviously some settings are more expensive than others. Antialiasing is extremely VRAM (video RAM) expensive (but this is sort of a trade-off, as higher resolutions typically mean less needed antialiasing, and vice-versa). Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) is also pretty VRAM/GPU expensive but not as pervasive as it's a relative newcomer to games. Texture and Mesh detail are more linear in their expense, mostly of VRAM. Sometimes it comes down to mixing and matching the right settings.

@InfiniteStateMachine: DosBox basically emulates the behavior of MS-DOS, including hardware access, so for the most part games think they're running natively on an 80x86 running straight-up MS-DOS.

It's somewhat of the same concept as Wine (the *nix Windows compatibility layer) except for MS-DOS.

A number of games with released source code (primarily id Tech 1-3 based games) have projects with similar goals, which is to port an engine originally built for MS-DOS or Windows 9x to XP/Vista/7 and sometimes even adding modern hardware features.

The only unfortunate circumstances I've encountered with Win7 and not being able to play an older title are games like Need For Speed 3 where the installers are 16-bit executables - 64-bit Windows no longer contains compatibility for 16-bit applications. In these cases you typically need to either find a community installer or install it on a 32-bit system and move it (and its registry entries).

@scubasteve2010: I'd have to vet that as a good build for the money. I might feel a bit on-edge about that PSU, but user ratings seem to be decent for it. Doesn't leave much room for additional hardware or later upgrades that might need more power, though.
