@kcin: Just so there's no confusion, I mean 4 characters/skins to choose from, not a team composed of 4 players. Is that what you meant as well?

I can't remember all of the details (it was more than a decade ago), but I remember there was a part on Prince of Persia that I couldn't get past. There was an area where it seemed like there was no way to progress. I got so mad that I thought that my game was defective because there was literally no way to move forward. Eventually I decided to just do a bunch of wall running and found out that all I had to do was run up a wall and he would grab a hold of a ledge (that I didn't see for some reason) and that was it. Me and my sister (who bought the game for me) had a good laugh about it.

Hi guys. Once again, I'm thinking of ideas for a video game. Nothing serious, I'm not a developer. Just an avid dreamer/gamer. Anyway, I haven't played many shooting games before (I mostly just play Gears of War) and was thinking about a video game of my own design. It would be an online multiplayer shooting game. You play as one of two teams: The good guys (soldiers) and the bad guys (terrorists). So far I have only come up with 4 characters per team. I kinda don't mind this, but I was wondering if 4 is too small a number. I can of course come up with more characters, but how many would be the average? I don't want to create too many. Btw, yes, I know this shouldn't matter for a game that may never become real, but it would put my mind at ease. As usual, I apologize if this is a silly question. I don't mean to be a pest.

I forgot to look up the hard drive. In that case, I'll just get the 500GB one and upgrade later. Thanks for the replies everyone! :)

I'm trying to get an Xbox One for a cheaply as I can. Right now, the 500GB console is the best choice in that regard. But some people have said that it's worth the extra money to get the 1TB console. To me the 500GB one is perfect for me because I only plan on playing a few games anyway. However, I might be missing out by not getting the newer model. How do I decide which one to get?

@bobafettjm: Yeah, that was it. I could've sworn I didn't see it. Never mind then :)

@hayt: Both Titanfall and Evolve (examples of prominent MP games that launched with no SP) did relatively poorly and more importantly had no player base after the initial few weeks.

I thought games like that were becoming pretty popular. Then again I've been out of the video game loops for a while now.

My opinion would be to just jump in and do your best. I play games for fun so my opinion might not matter in this case. But if I were to pick up a game like this I'd just try to have fun.

Let's say I had lots of money and wanted to make a game. Could I ask a developer to make one for me, rather than try and create my own studio? Not one of the big name developers but a smaller, lesser known one. Or is creating my own studio a much better idea?
