give me a good reason why he used chink instead of achilles heel, weakness, or even kink in the armor.

Because its a well know well used phrase. Because it makes sense. And because no one thought there would be a massive backlash due to ignorant racist fucks who hate all white people.

White people didnt think there would be a backlash. Do you see what I'm getting at here (its that you don't care about the opinions of POC)

If you think someone's opinion matters when they twist and misconstrue statements in order to cause harm and suffering to another human being you should be shot, Its people like you who are the problem. Not people who use the language properly.

I really like the segue from "harm and suffering to another human being" to "you should be shot". That's the kind of critical thinking skills that I just can't get enough of.

Nope! Intent doesn't matter. This is all part of a complex on focusing on anything but the interpretations of minorities, which are afforded lower value than the intent of white people.

So when people other than white, use the term, the man ,crackers, honkey, redneck, in any context the interpretations of white people overrule the intent of the minority.

Lets say a black man says " Oh man, Nick Cage is the fucking man!!"

Hang the racist mother fucker?

Nope. Racism doesn't work that way! Also, your example doesn't make sense. Racism is about power disparity, which is why a black person saying "cracker" is not equivalent to a white person saying the n-word.

Yup. Reverse racism is completely acceptable. It's the only way to battle actual racism.

Reverse racism doesn't exist! Hope this helps!

Well, I ain't offended. And as far as I know, I'm the only person of Gypsy descent in this thread, so...

So if Lin wasn't offended why are other people?

Because, contrary to popular belief, Jeremy Lin doesn't represent all Asian people.

Or perhaps he just realizes that the phrase chink in the armor doesn't have anything to do with race?

give me a good reason why he used chink instead of achilles heel, weakness, or even kink in the armor.

Because chink in the armor is a common phrase that has been used forever, and is constantly used in sports?

It's such a common phrase that I've heard it maybe twice in the last decade. Today is the second time.

The last time I saw it used was in an SA image macro of an Asian dude in chainlink armour. Not racist!!

He didn't think of it when he went for the metaphor.

Bzzzt. That's not a good reason.

White guilt.

I think you need to be careful about assuming who is posting in this thread. Thanks!
