My Top Ten Games of All Time

Here's my list of my top ten favorite games of all time...they are in order.

List items

  • In 1998, and since then, no other game has spoken to me or enthralled me as much as Ocarina of Time, with the exception of Oblivion. The timeless tale of Link's battle to save Hyrule has never been crafted in a more masterful way, and this game stands alone still, twelve years later, as the greatest game I've ever played.

  • Oblivion hit me like a brick when it came out in March of 2006. Originally planned as a launch title for the Xbox 360, Oblivion was the main reason I bought an Xbox 360, and man I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Four years and five hundred hours later, I still load up the world of Cyrodiil just to enjoy one of the, if not the greatest open world RPG of all time.

  • While many of you will wonder what caused the absence of Goldeneye 007 from my list, the main reason is simple, Perfect Dark was better. Released in 2000, about a year before the end of the 64's life cycle, Perfect Dark not only brought together a friendship with a person that I didn't get along with at all, it really brought me into the whole world of first person shooters.

  • To deny Halo it's greatness would be a mistake. The legendary tale of Master Chief starts here, and out of the three main Halo games, this one still has the best campaign. It also introduced us to the world of Slayer matches, but more on that later.

  • Sure, as a kid I grew up on Mario 1, 2, and 3 on the nes, but Super Mario World is still, without a doubt, the game that I enjoyed the most out of all of the Mario games. I have many found memories of playing the game with friends and even family members.

  • While Halo has the greatest campaign, Halo 3's multiplayer is still amongst the best multiplayer game I've ever played, and hence why it's sat on my shelf since it's release in September of 2007. I still play this game online, it's that damn good.

  • Grand Theft Auto has been a series I've followed since it's incarnation. While many people choose GTA III as their favorite, I think the series hit it's peak with San Andreas. Not only is San Andreas still one of the biggest open world games of all time, but the amount of things you can do in that game even blow the recent Saints Row series out of the water. The story was pretty decent too.

  • I love me some Silent Hill. I have found memories of each game (with the exceptions of Homecoming and 3). But the series best game for me will always be "The Room", because unlike any other Silent Hill, this game throws everything out the window and creates something truly unique to the series. It is also the darkest of the games in this series.

  • Being a musician, five years ago you couldn't have even told me that the popularity of music games would sky rocket. I honestly would have laughed in your face. Then a funny thing happen, I picked up Rock Band 1, and I started playing the hell out of it. Since then, I'm pretty sure not a day has gone by that I haven't loaded up Rock Band 2 even once. I also have a pretty lengthy dlc library for the game. Good times.

  • Forget Left 4 Dead, "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" invented the whole team up against zombies craze. This is a game that is just itching to be remade.
