@fox01313: I wish you could ban them. Wasn't there a riot a while back, maybe a couple years ago, in another country and I swear they tried to pin it all on GTA or something not sure the connection. Maybe it was in the UK or something. It was, aside from that god awful Fox News Mass Effect sex game video, the most idiotic thing I'd ever seen.

While these people are making a very stupid argument for obvious reasons, I don't think it's anything worth worrying about, and it's not something that I can even get that frustrated about anymore. This is a very small group of people, who are part of a movement which has very little legal power, increasingly dwindling cultural power, and a voice that is getting quieter all the time.

how the hell does mass effect 3 make someone want to go kill kids? Whatever. Those people are idiots who have never played a video game in their entire life and never plan to.

People are just scared and need something to blame.

Yeah there was a big series of riots in England, but I never heard anything about it being blamed on games over here.

I saw the same thing on my Facebook, and it was mostly people just piling on about how games were causing this.

Really? Mass Effect caused someone to go on a shooting spree in a school? Needless to say, I didn't know how to respond without being a massive, massive jerk. It's a tough situation.

@Pierre42: I swear I seen something about it. It may have been a front story on a game site but I thought they mentioned this is what GTA is promoting or something it was stupid. If GTA could cause widespread riots on that scale we would have some serious problems.

It's easy and, frankly, cathartic to go nuts and point the blame at something. It feels good when you're pissed off, and need something to take it out on. Irrational, perhaps, but we all can't always be calm and reasonable.

Regardless, they are really, really stupid for doing this.

So what I'm getting from this topic is that EA not only stole money from sick children, but they actively plotted their grisly murder.

Clearly the next step is Batarian style raids on preschools.
